Notes for Nathan FISKE
Listed in the Candler Manuscript (used to compile the 1934 Fiske article) as “Nathan Fiske whose children went all to New England.” His sister Martha Underwood lived with him late in lift. [607]

Savage’s: FISKE, NATHAN, Watertown, probably brother of the first David, was of an honorable family in County Suffolk bearing coat of arms so early as the days of Henry VI., as appears on record. Freeman 10 May 1643, by wife Susanna had Nathan, born 17 October 1642; John, 25 August 1647; David, 29 April 1650; Nathaniel, 12 July 1653; and Sarah, who married Abraham Gale. He died 21 June 1676, made his will two days before naming son John executor but of that son we hear no more from Bond. Perhaps he died unmarried or removed.

In his will, dated 19 June 1676 and proved 10 July 1676, he named his sons Nathan, John (executor), David, and Nathaniel, and his daughter Sarah Gale."

Because of Nathan’s age when the children in Watertown were born, there is some speculation that the Nathan going crazy in Watertown and his sister Martha were grandchildren of Geoffrey and Mary Fiske. The theory being that they were sons of Geoffrey’s son Nathan, and that the Candler manuscript says that Nathan’s children went to New England, not him. I think I lean more toward the theory of two wives, but I need to do more research on more recent Fiske writings. [2]
