Notes for Richard Bernard
Prominent Puritan clergyman. The daughters of Sir Christopher Wray were his early patrons and sent him to Cambridge, where he got his B.A. in 1594/5 and his M.A. in 1598. He published several books while living at Epworth and Worksop. He almost became a Separatist, but later prominently opposed them.
