Notes for Samuel BAKER
Samuel’s will mentions son Kenelm, an unusual name that links him to the baptism records at Scituate that list only his wife’s name, and to Ellen, daughter of Kenelm Winslow.

Samuel Baker of Marshfield, Plimouth Co., husbandman. "On consideration of my natural love and affection which I bear unto my son Kenelm Baker" Samuel gave grants to Kenelm of his land in Scituate "lying and being of Skergo in Marshfield aforsaid whereupon I now live, that is to say ye land whereon his house standeth which he himself built and the one half of my orchard meadowland and all other my land both enclosed or farmed in and around in." Son Kenelm Baker was appointed administrator of his estate.

According to Anderson; Samuel Baker, who died 1699 Marshfield, Plymouth Co, MA(will), husband of Ellen Winslow(1), is not the s/o Rev. Nicholas Baker(2), his son Samuel, bp. 21 Oct 1638 Hingham, m(1) 1664 Fear Robinson, m(2) Abigail (Lathrop) Huntington. Nor is he the s/o Alexander Baker, the 1635 immigrant(3), cited by James Savage, in "Genealogical Dictionary of The First Settlers of N.E.", the Samuel s/o Alexander, predeceased his father, unmarried. Alexander Baker's 1684 will does not mention a son, Samuel.
