Henrich Horn, my ancestor, was born 15 October 1758 in Kassel, Stadt, Hessen-Nassau, Preussen. He served in the 5th Company of the von Knyphaussen Regiment as a Private. He was captured at the Battle of Trenton on 26 December 1776.

Henrich (Henry) Horn married Elizabeth Pretzman in 1782 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Henry and Elizabeth Pretzman Horn had 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls. Seven of the eight were born in Loudoun County, Virginia. The last of the children was born in Bedford County, Pa.

After his capture at the Battle of Trenton Henrich Horn was sent to Lancaster, Pa. Early in 1777 he joined Pulaski's Legion and became a Captain in the Troop Of Horses. He was with Pulaski at the Battle of Savannah when Pulaski was killed.

Henry Horn was Ordained as a Methodist Minister in Loudoun County. He was sent to Bedford County, Pa. and served as a Circuit Rider for the Methodist Church.

He died 6 October 1845 and was buried in the Horne Church Cemetery in Bedford County, Pa. Henry Horn was granted a pension for his service in the American Army during the Revolution. This pension was granted by a Court headed by Alexander Hamilton. This pension was confirmed by letter from the head of the War Department in the early 1920's.

One of the 6 boys, Andrew, changed the spelling of the name Horn to Horne. His is the only line that spells the name with an e.
