ARTHUR BEAM—Arthur Beam, 62, Duluth, Minn.,
formerly of Kokomo, died there Sunday following an extended illness.
He was at one time an employee of the former Bell’s Jewelry
Store here.
Among the survivors are the widow,
Bertha; three children,
several grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George
Sowers, Huntington; a
brother, Fred Beam, Daytona Beach, Fla., and a half-brother,
Richard Bell, Athens, Mich.
Funeral services were concluded Wednesday in Duluth.

OBITUARY—Alfred L. Bell was born in Dublin, Ind.,
February 22, 1868. He passed away December 7, 1933, at his home 1305
North Morrison street, at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 15 days.
Surviving his decease are the widow,
Anna Bell, a son
Richard, two step-sons, Fred Beam of Muncie and
Arthur Beam of
Indianapolis. A step-daughter, Mrs. Marie
Leatl of Kokomo, a brother
Dr. Ed. Bell and sister
Virginia Broune, both of Iowa, who were unable
to attend the funeral. There are six grandchildren and other relatives
with a host of friends.
“Dad,” as they always called him, was loved by all that were
acquainted with him for his love and kindness which he never hesitated
to show. He often remarked that he tried to live by the Golden Rule:
“As ye would that others do unto you, do ye even so unto
them.”

MRS. ANNA BELL—Funeral services for Mrs.
Anna Beam Bell, former resident of 618 W. North St., will be at 2 p.m. Friday in
the Peacock Funeral Home with the Rev. J. McFarlane
Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Bell died Monday at 1 p.m. in the Halifax Hospital at
Ormond Beach, Fla.
Born in Clifton, N.Y., May 25, 1889, she was the daughter of
Henry and Minnie (Wehrs)
Dehne.
She was first married to
Gus Beam, who preceded her in
death. She later married Alfred Bell, who is also deceased.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church here.
Among the survivors are three sons,
Fred Beam, Armond [sic]
Beach, Fla.; Arthur Beam, Duluth, Minn., and
Richard Bell, Athens,
Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Souers, Huntington; a sister,
Mrs. James
(Amelia) Getz, Kokomo; two brothers,
Edward Dehne, Marion, and Paul
Dehne, Warren; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great grandchildren.

WAPAKONETA—Gerald
Lee Burden, 60, 606 E
Auglaize, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday at his home. He had been ill for
several years.
He was born June 11, 1898 in Wapakoneta. He married to
Pearl Katherine Christler Aug. 28, 1920, who survives. He was a member
of the First English Lutheran Church. He was a former employee of the
Lima Ordinance Plant and Superior Tube in Wapakoneta.
He is survived by his wife, a son,
John E. at home; three
daughters, Mrs. R.L. (Mary
Catherine) Renbarger, Mrs.
Earl (Janie May)
Daugherty and Mrs. Paul (Lois
Jean) Axe all of St. Marys. Seven
grandchildren survive and two sisters, Mrs. Harry
Encil Eichler and Mrs.
Edward May and a brother, Arley
Burden all of Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the
Siferd Funeral Home. Rev. George
F. Weissling, D.D. will officiate and
burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday.
