MILLER, John J. DIED—J.J. Miller was buried yesterday in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery. The deceased was seventy-four years old and had lived in Grant county for many years. The funeral was held at the home of his son James two miles north of Sweetser. MILLER, Virginia
(Cain) DEATH OF PIONEER—Mrs. Virginia Miller, Aged 79, Died at Home of Son in Pleasant Township.
Mrs. Virginia Miller, one of the pioneer
residents of Pleasant township, died Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock at
the home of her son, John N. Miller, near Mt. Olive. She was seventy-nine
years, six months and fourteen days old. She suffered with paralysis some
time ago and this with complications caused her death. Marion Daily Leader (Grant Co., Indiana); Wednesday 2 December 1908; pg. 2 col. 5 PIONEER LADY OF PLEASANT DEAD—Mrs. Virginia Miller, one of the oldest and best-known women of Pleasant township, died at 7:30 Tuesday evening at the home of her son, John M. Miller, living on the Mt. Olive pike, after a short illness with paralysis and a complication of diseases. Mrs. Miller was first stricken with the disease several months ago, but rallied, and it was thought she would recover. A few days ago she sustained a second stroke and since then her condition has been critical. The is [sic] 79 years old. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at Mt. Olive chapel. The services will be conducted by Rev. Rogers. The body will be buried in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mrs. Miller leaves four sons—James A., John W., David M. and Joseph M.
