CELESTE M. NEWBY

             Celeste M. (Hanson) Newby, 79, Russiaville, R.R. 1, died Thursday evening at 9:20 p.m. at the Kokomo Convalescent Center. She had been in failing health for five years, and a resident of the Center for two months.
            Mrs. Newby was born August 10, 1885, in Monroe Township, the daughter of Charles A. and Hannah (Macy) Hanson. She was married 1 March 1905 to Frank C. Newby, who preceded her in death, Feb. 10, 1960.
            She was a member of the New London Friends Church, the Needle Circle, the W.T.C.U., and a graduate of the New London High School.
            She is survived by two sons, Everett W. Newby of Kokomo, and Max C. Newby of Kokomo; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Farlow, of Russiaville and Mrs. Chester (Margaret) Thompson of Kokomo. She is also survived by one brother Artes Hanson of Russiaville, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
            Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the New London Friends Church with the Rev. Robert Beck officiating. Burial will be in the New London Cemetery.
            Friends may call at the Stout and Son Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today and one hour before the service in the church.
