    Joseph Lantz, son of John and Magdalina (Yoder)
Lantz was born Dec. 26, 1827.  He died June 30, 1861 in
McLean County, Ill.  In 1851, he married Catherine Kistler,
who was born Dec. 10, 1833 and died Dec. 6, 1904.  He was
a carpenter and a farmer.  Their descendents are:

   1. Thomas Lantz, born near Carlock, Ill., Nov. 4, 1852,
      died Jan. 2, 1929 at Los Gatos, Cal., married Mar. 25,
      1875, to Bernie Vercler, farmer and fruit grower;
       1. Henry, born Dec. 22, 1876, married Jan. 29, 1921
          to Edith Marie Roberts;
           1. Katherine Marie, born July 28, 1925;
       2. Katherine, born March 22, 1882, unmarried;
       3. Amy, born Dec. 30, 1883, unmarried, Los Gatos,
          Cal.;
   2: Mary E., born Aug. 10, 1854, married Oct. 12, 1904 to
      Milo F. Lantz (Bl2ll7), no children;
   3. Rebecca, born Feb. 26, 1858, married Dec. 28, 1874 to
      John P. Yoder, a teacher and High School Superin-
      tendent;
       1. Lydia Jane, born Feb. 18, 1876, Danvers, El, mar-
          ried June 29, 1909 to Bert Rix, Portland, Ore.;
       2. Arthur, born June 20, 1878, Danvers, Ill., died
          June 13, 1927, married Harriet Scholfield, Forest
          Grove, Ore.  Was a Government teacher in Philip-
          pines after the War of '98 after which he returned
          to U. S. and continued in his profession of teach-
          ing;
           1. Mary Elizabeth, born March 11, 1912;
       3. Katy, born May 1, 1880, died Aug. 1, 1883;
       4. Hattie Jean, born March 26, 1882; married April
          13, 1909 to McDonald Potts of Portland, Ore.;
           1. Jean, born Aug. 27, 1910, Metzger, Ore.;
           2. Barbara, born Nov. 5, 1912;
           3. Georgia, born Jan. 27, 1916;
       5. Rebecca, born Jan. 24, 1887, married Feb. 1, 1913
          to George Christenson;
           1. Ellen, born Jan. 5, 1914;
           2. John Olaf, born Aug. 1, 1915;
           3. Donald, born Jan. 3, 1918;
           4. Harvey, born Sept. 4, 1920;
       6. Bennett, born Nov. 16, 1889, died May 22, 1892;
