                    THE FAMILY OF JACOB LANTZ

    Jacob Lantz, son of Jacob and Sabina Lantz was born
Aug. 8, 1819.  In 1845, he married Linnie Carpenter.  He
died April 28, 1864, while in Prison Camp at Point Lookout
and was buried there.  He was captured by the Northern
soldiers at the Battle of Gettysburg.  His home was in
Lincoln County, N. Carolina.  His descendents are:

   1. Nancy Caroline, born Feb. 15, 1846, died June 11, 1858;
   2. Infant son born and died June 21, 1848;
   3. Mary Jane, born Oct. 30, 1849, died May 7, 1851;
   4. John Franklin, born Jan. 28, 1856, married Laura A.
      Robinson in 1880, died 1928;
        1. Alfred Lee, born Feb. 5, 1881, died Nov. 18, 1881;
