Andreas may have died earlier than 1851, but that date is used because it is supposedly when his wife and daughters came to the United States.

She married JOSEPH HINN^3,4,5 1850 in New York, son of SEBASTIAN HINN and MARIA SCHILL. He was born Bef. March 23, 1828 in Biederbach, Freiburg, Germany, and died November 23, 1905 in Marion, Grant Co., WI.

Notes for JOSEPH HINN:

Joseph HINN purchased land at several different times from the land office in Mineral Springs, WI. His first purchase was on November 10, 1855 consisting of 80 acres in Fennimore. His second purchase involved 3 parcels on June 1, 1858 - 40 acres, 80 acres and 120 acres all in the same area. One last purchase was made by a Joseph HINN of Douglass County, WI, of 40 acres on March 1, 1865. There is no proof that this is our Joseph HINN, but so far no other Joseph has been found. Douglas County is the most nothern county in Wisconsin while Grant County is the most southern, making it highly unlikely that this is our Joseph. (Maybe he was buying land for a summer cottage).

Notes for GEORGE H. HENKEL:

George gave his daughter, Laura, $100 per month spending money while she was attending college at CIA in Texas. This was a substantial sum in those days and indicate that George was well off.

George took his granddaughters (Katherine, Edith, Florence and possibly Doris and Eloise) into town with him on one occaison and bought them ice cream cones. The girls remember this as a special time because their parents had little money and it was quite a treat.
