General Notes: According to James' baptismal record his mother was Juliana, who was presumably William's second wife. James married Catherine in 1856 in Sheffield and following the death of his young son William in 1861 the family emigrated to America. James, his wife Catherine, daughter Catherine and baby James left Liverpool on the ship 'Underwriter' on 23rd April 1861 and arrived in New York on 22nd May 1861. They were bound for Uthah. Young James died on the journey from New York to Utah. From Utah the family subsequently moved to San Fransisco. James died here at the young age of 37 and Catherine and family returned to England settling once more in Sheffield. James married Catherine DAFT in 1855 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
