Albert Edward Pilley had 'John' recorded as 'James' and his wife 'Mary' as 'Maria'. John and Mary's details given here are as given by Anne Frazer (great granddaughter of William Henry Horrax and Marie Teresa Pilley who has done extensive research).
John and Mary probably lived in Worksop where John was a wheelwright like his father. At some time he probably did work for the Duke of Norfolk's Clumber Estate nearby. The Dukes of Norfolk remained Catholic throughout penal times.
John married Mary in 1762.
