Patrick was born at 4 Court, 3 House, Hawley Croft and baptised on the 24.11.1878 in the RC Parish of St Marie's, Sheffield. His godparents where Martin & Elizabeth Fahey.
In the 1881 census he is living with his parents at 4 Court, 3 House, Hawley Croft, Sheffield [RG11/4641/56/36]. By the 1891 census the family had moved to 19 Hawley Croft, Sheffield [RG12/3814/41/17]. At the time of the 1901 census he was still living with his parents at 118 Solly Street, Sheffield and his occupation was given as Builder's Labourer. He later became a steel smelter in the Sheffield steel works (first Firth Brown and then Samuel Osborne where he later became a steel examiner). He played flute for the Irish National Foresters' band. The Irish National Foresters were a friendly society that supported Irish nationalism. A staunch Republican, he would refuse to stand up for the national anthem. Patrick and his first wife Mary "Polly" (Kevil) are recordeed as living at 56 Arthur Street, Crookesmoor, Sheffield in the 1911 census with their one year old daughter Mary. Patrick is described as a Siemen's Steel Melting Furnaceman. Polly died in 1914 aged 34. Patrick married Elizabeth McGinty Hutton in 1919 and their family home became 72 Ruthin Street, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield.
In the 1939 Register Patrick, his second wife Elizabeth and sons Bernard, Kevin and Bill are recorded living at 72 Ruthin Street. Patrick is described as an armour plate inspector. Patrick died in 1943 in Sheffield, aged 64, and is buried at St Michael's Cemetery, Rivelin, Sheffield.
