Jeremiah was born 23 Jun 1714 in Newington, Rockingham, NH.⁽⁴⁸¹⁾ Jeremiah was the son of Jeremiah Miller and she (Miller). Jeremiah died 15 Jan 1789 in Arundel, York, ME, at 74 years of age. Occupation: joiner.⁽⁴⁸²⁾ He resided in Arundel, York, ME 1737.⁽⁴⁸³⁾ Abstract from History of Kennebunkport by Bradbury, pp 256, 263-264:

"MILLER, Jeremiah, son of John jr. of Cape Porpoise, was born in Newington, [CT?] June 23, 1714. He served his time with Benjamin Downing, who was a joiner. Mr.Miller came to this town abut 1737, and married Elizabeth Lassel. His children were, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Mary, John, Benjamin, Lemuel, Joseph, Hannah and Lydia. Joseph died young. Elizabeth, m. Samuel Emmons; Mary, John Goodwin; Hannah, Joseph Mason; and Lydia, Mr. Harvey of Wells.

1. Andrew was born April 3, 1738. He married Mary Walker. His children were, Joseph, Andrew, and two girls that died young; Hannah, m. Thomas Dorman; Deborah, James Miller; Betsey, Andrew Sherburne; and Sally.

2. Jeremiah jr. was born March 1, 1742. He married Mary Walker. HIs children were, John, Sally, Polly, Hannah, Esther, Susan, Daniel and Esther.

3. John was born Oct. 26,1746, and he married Betsey Nason. His children were, James, Betsey, Benjamin, Olive, John, Sally,Jeremiah, Mary and Hannah.

4. Benjamin, born Feb. 28, 1749, married widow Isabella McCormac, and had but one child, Jeremiah.

5. Lemuel, born March 29,1751, married Anna Burbank in 1773. His children were, Eunice, Elizabeth, Asa, William, died young, Betsey, William, Hannah, Oliver, George, Joshua and Lemuel."

3. Jeremiah3 Miller (Jeremiah2, John1) was born June 23, 1714, in Newington and baptized June 27, 1714, in the North Church, Portsmouth. He was apprenticed to his cousin Benjamin Downing, a joiner, who lived on their grandfather Miller's place in Arundel, and, after serving his time, settled in that town, where, in 1736, he bought 50 acres from Shadrach Watson and other property from John Morgan. It must have been soon after thus establishing himself that he married Elizabeth Lassell, daughter of Joshua and Katherine (Brown) Lassell of Arundel.

He was a proprietor of the town in 1738, tythingman in 1747, fence viewer in 1751, 1754, 1756 and 1772, constable in 1757, and surveyor of highways in 177 and 1780. He was elected deacon of the church 1772 and was moderator of the town meeting in 1770.

He died January 15, 1789 in his 75th year, and administration on his estate was granted to his son Lemuel Miller, gentleman, at the requet of his widow, on February 5. The inventory discloses 82 acres of land with a house and barn and various livestock, and a pew in Arundel church. To the widow Elizabeth Miller was assigned as her dower 20 acres of land, one-half of the house, one-third of the barn, one-third of the pew and the "benefit of the orchard." The total valuation of the estate was L265 (York Probate No. 13145). Elizabeth Miller wa sliving in 1790 when she appears in the census as "widow Miller."

Brewer's 12th Mass Regiment and had been present at the surrender of Gen. Burgoyne, d. Sept 6, 1808. She d. Sept 10, 1840 aged 86 (a slight over-estimate, not uncommon on gravestones).
