Minot died 7 Oct 1954 in Pensacola, Escambia, FL, at 45 years of age.⁽⁸⁷⁵⁰⁾ did after surgery to remove a cancerous lung; life-long heavy smoker, not diagnosed with cancer until shortly before surgery; died within hours after surgery was completed. Addie was born 2 Sep 1918 in Pensacola, Escambia, FL.⁽⁸⁷⁵³⁾ Addie was the daughter of Henry Cardenas and Mary Leana Jane Bradley. No previous illnesses, hospitalizations. After valve replacement, oxygen supply to organs failed and heart, liver, and other organs became necrotic and failed resulting in death 3 weeks after surgery.

Minot served in the military in Vietnam, 1966-1967. After graduation of High School, Pensacola, FL, in Jul 1955, joined the Air Force; selected for OCS, graduated from Navigator training and commissioned 2nd Lt, USAF.
