Dr Peter Trisler, who died in Jessamine Co KY in 1821, is said to have had a Bible that "contained family records of many of the German families who had moved to Jessamine Co about this time." As y'all know, the Trisler, Brunner, Houser, and Arnspiger families seemed to move together, with much intermarrying.
The Bible, and the Doctor's German medical books, was reportedly in the possession of John Cawby in 1884. A few years ago, I was able to track down a descendant of his. She thinks she heard about the German medical books getting wet but had no direct knowledge of a Bible and doubted any of them survived the years.
Recently I got a lead that the Bible was in Maui Hawaii in the 1970 time frame and launched an email and USPS letter campaign there. A close and knowledgeable relative of the lady in Hawaii, that supposedly had the Bible, has clarified that this is/was not the case.
