Hall Family Tree
Name origin: an occupation or topographical surname denoting someone who served in or lived near the hall on a manor.

My branch of the Hall family are closely connected with the sea.

Nearly all the men in the family are fishermen and mariners, living in Folkestone and Dover in Kent.

It is difficult to trace this family back further than the mid 18th century, because there are so many with this surname.

In the 19th century some of the Folkestone Hall families go to live and work in London, especially Bermondsey and Rotherhithe.
