[NI0264] John ASHCRAFT was seen on the tax records in Orange County, North Carolina in 1779. He was probably in the same place in 1782 and 1783 as his voucher for Revolutionary War service was from the same district. He was in Sampson County, North Carolina in 1786; Anson County, North Carolina in 1790; York County, South Carolina in 1800; and Chester County, South Carolina in 1810 where he died in 1816.
In 1771, militia was organized by Governor Tyron of North Carolina to fight the "Regulators." John ASHCRAFT, John BROWN, and Abner BROWN were on Isaiah Hogan's roll in September 1772.

[NI0265] Rebecca ASHCRAFT's will can be found in Chester County, South Carolina in Will Book V page 362, 07 March 1827 and recorded 08 October 1872 wit: by Joel and Jesse ASHCRAFT, James LEE and Joseph CROOK.

[NI0537] Thomas ASHCRAFT was named guardian of Mary ASHCRAFT. Joseph CROOK appointed Adm. John S. CHAMBERS guardian of John A. WHERRY after Mary died. Joseph CROOK turned over $258.68 1/2 to John S. CHAMBERS for John A. WHERRY.
