Donald R. Besler
Donald R. Besler, age 58, of Big Falls and Mequon, Wis., passed away Monday evening, Oct. 30, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center following a choking accident at a local supper club. Beil-Didier Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bernice H. Raddant
Bernice H. Raddant, age 83, formerly of 924 Maiden Lane, Shawano, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 31, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center in Shawano where she had been a resident for the past three years.
Bernice was born July 16, 1917, in the Town of Washington, Shawano County, a daughter of the late John and Linda (Hafferman) Hartwig. She attended country schools in the Town of Washington. Following school she worked as a housekeeper in Green Bay. On April 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ervin Raddant at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived and farmed on County Road CC in the Town of Waukechon from 1941 until 1969, when they moved to Shawano. Bernice had been employed at the Convalescent Center in Shawano for two years and later at Zwicker Knitting Mill from which she retired in the early 70's. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1999. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she served with the Ladies Aid. She also taught soft-sculpture doll class in Shawano for several years. She loved flowers, crocheting and painting.
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Betty (Jack) Hillsberg of Navarino; sons and daughters-in-law, James (Sandy) Raddant, Robert Raddant and Allen (Helen) Raddant, all of Shawano; grandchildren, Mike (Sheila) Raddant of Shawano, Jody (Tim) Wilmet, DePere, Julie (Charles) Ingold of Howard, Sue Raddant of Appleton, Barbara (friend, Dan) Raddant of Gillett, David (Alisha) Raddant of Cecil, Allen Raddant Jr. of Mosinee, Kurt Raddant of Appleton and Jeff Raddant of Shawano; Great-grandchildren, Ben and Sam Ingold, Lauren Wilmet and Foster Raddant; several step-grandchildren; one brother, Louis (Ethel) Hartwig of Shawano; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Schram officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Friends may call at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Gladys M. Borsche
Gladys M. Borsche, age 85, Shawano, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center, following a short illness.
Gladys was born May 14, 1915, in the Town of Poygan, the daughter of the late Charles and Albertina (Blan Kenhagen) Pohlman. She married Claire (Joe) Borsche on May 21, 1949, and they resided in Appleton for 40 years until they retired to their home in Shawano. Gladys spent over 30 years of her life as a Sunday school teacher at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Appleton. Gladys and Joe were also foster parents for a number of years.
Survivors include: her husband, Joe; three sons, Wayne (Nancy) Borsche Sr. of Shawano, Lee (Jane) Borsche of Fremont, Jim (Sharon) Borsche of Green Bay; a sister, Evelyn (Mike) Kemps of Omro; two grandsons, Wayne Borsche Jr. of Appleton, Michael Borsche of Green Bay. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Retzloff, Hazel Hane and Vivian Lanning, her brother, Orin Pohlman and her granddaughter, Robin Borsche.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3009 North Meade Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. today, and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, is in charge of arrangements.

Duane S. Rutte
Mr. Duane S. Rutte, age 72, of Marietta, Ga., lost a courageous battle with leukemia on Oct. 29, 2000.
Duane was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Leopolis. Following graduation from high school Duane entered the United States Army and was stationed in Vienna, Austria, from 1946 until 1947. Returning to Wisconsin in 1948, he received a degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1952. He was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He married Rosemary Reilly of Milwaukee in 1953. After 35 years in the dairy industry in Green Bay and Miami, Fla., the couple retired to Atlanta, Ga. in 1991 to be closer to their five children. Duane was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Habitat for Humanity. Duane enjoyed home brewing and woodworking. He was a devoted family man and a joy to everyone who knew his humble, easy-going manner and sense of humor. He touched the lives of many throughout his 72 years with his deep faith and selflessness. He will be remembered with great love and affection by all who knew him and will continue to serve as a role model in their lives.
Duane leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 47 years, Rosemary; two sons, Joseph (Jan) Rutte of Marietta, Ga., John (Franziska) Rutte of Roswell, Ga.; three daughters, Kathy (Joel) Rutte Schoenblum of Alpharetta, Ga., Ann (Michael) Rutte Stanek of Atlanta, Ga., Mary Rutte of Marietta, Ga.; six grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Jack Semling of Merrill, Wis.
The body was cremated. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Marietta, Ga. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Ann's Habitat for Humanity. Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys M. Borsche, age 85, Shawano, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center, following a short illness. Inadvertently omitted from the survivors in the Wednesday obituary, was a great-grandson, Cody Borsche.

Hearn, Thomas J.
Hearn, Thomas J., 91, Fountain Hills, Arizona and Shawano, transitioned on October 27, 2000, leaving a sad place in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by: his wife of 32 years, Arlene Brunner Hearn, and his stepson Gary Allhiser. He is the brother-in-law of Helen and George Peterman of Shawano, Bob and MaryJo Brunner of Shawano, Ron and Barbara Brunner of Wausau, Karen and Michael Marsden of Appleton, and Wayne Buettner of Gresham. Mr. Hearn was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He worked multiple jobs to support his mother and younger brothers during the depression and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He moved to Arizona in 1946. He retired in 1986 from O'Malley Investment and Realty in Phoenix after a distinguished and honorable career as an industrial real estate broker. After retirement he divided his time between winters in Arizona and summers in Shawano, his wife's native home. His joys in life were building beautiful homes, meticulously landscaping them, spending hours in hardware stores looking for new tools he couldn't possibly live without, and playing with his beloved Westies, Chaucer and Keats. He takes the song in his heart and the dance in his step to the other side. Services will be in Shawano on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Donations in lieu of flowers, if you wish, are suggested to the Humane Society. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements.

Mary C. Fletcher
Mary C. Fletcher, age 79, of W5162 Lulu Lake Drive, Shawano, formerly of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on November 1, 2000 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.
Mary was born on May 8, 1921, in Aurora, to the late Alex J. and Emma A. Kramer. She married Donald A. Fletcher on November 15, 1945. Mary was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil; her deep faith gave her strength and courage. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and homemaker. Mary enjoyed being with her family, swimming with her friends at the Shawano Rec Center and camping. She and her husband Don were Charter Members of the Bayland Badgers Camping Club.
Mary is survived by: her husband, Donald; two daughters, Susan M. (Richard) Fichtel of Green Bay, Constance A. Fletcher of Shawano; one son, Richard D. (Linda) Fletcher of Suamico. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew and Mark Fichtel, Eric (fiancee Karrie Samp), Jason and Daniel Fletcher; one great grandchild, Damien Gazza Fichtel; one sister, Shirley Zemansky of Joliet, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: three brothers, Roy, Ralph and Alfred Kramer and one sister, Helen Mutz.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil with the Reverend Len Evers officiating.
Interment will be at the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay. Friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home, 518 W. 5th Street, Shawano, today, between the hours of 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A parish wake service will be held at 7:30 this evening.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospital, Sixth Floor ICU and Ninth Floor, for their heartfelt care and concern.

June R. Gerlach
June R. Gerlach, age 86, of Birch Lane, Town of Pella, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 1, 2000, at Three Pillars Masonic Health Care Center in Dousman.
The former June Rose Mueller was born June 18, 1914, in Milwaukee, to the late Norbert and Ethel (Hawes) Mueller. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and received her Masters in Education. June taught for many years at Henry Clay Grade School in Whitefish Bay. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Town of Pella. June had taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid. June enjoyed reading, gardening and fishing. Her passion was traveling, but she will be remembered most as an educator, wife and loving mother.
Survivors include: two sons, Brian (Joan) Pape of Bellingham, Wash., Lance (Kelly) Pape of Haines, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, George (Pat) Mueller of Milwaukee; many other relatives and friends. June was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1998 and one sister, Virginia Callen.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Town of Pella with the Rev. Jim and the Rev. Carol Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Clintonville and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Jean Ann (Doxtater) Martinez, age 46, of N8627, Oak Street, Bowler, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Shawano Medical Center.

D. Rosebud Hoffman
D. Rosebud Hoffman, age 80, of N7348 River Street of Gresham, died Nov. 3, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1920, at Omro, Wis., the daughter of the late Albert and Charlotte (Strachen) Thresher. She was married on June 26, 1943, in Gresham, to Lee J. Hoffman. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1998. She and her husband Lee owned and operated Hoffman Gamble Store. She had been a resident of Gresham all of her married life. She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church and a member and past president of the Gresham Womens Club. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill (Susan) Hoffman, Doug (Lynda Lou) Hoffman and one daughter, Peggy Hoffman, all of Gresham; three grandchildren, Andy Hoffman, Amy (Paul) Minniecheske, Bonnie (Mike) Grulkowski; five great-grandchildren, Matt, Madi, Karli, Dillion, Lonna; one sister, Leatha Burdick of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Kenneth and Thomas Thresher and a special nephew, Kenneth "Skipper" Thresher in Vietnam.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with Father David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elfrieda V. Heling, age 88, formerly of N5207 County Hwy. U, Town of Herman, passed away Saturday afternoon, Nov. 4, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center in Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks. Maxine C. Ramker
Maxine C. Ramker, age 90, of Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000.
She was born in Charles City, Iowa, on July 27, 1910, the daughter of the late John and Edith (Adams) Ramker. She lived in the Colby area for many years and moved here about 10 years ago.
She is survived by: a son, Richard (Marge) Ramker of Madison; a brother, Max (Bonnie) Ramker of Abbotsford; a sister, Betty (Floyd) Peterson of Chili; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Virgil, Merlin and Melvin, sisters, Berniece and Velma.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Jean Ann (Doxtater) Martinez
Jean Ann (Doxtater) Martinez, age 46, of N8627 Oak Street, Bowler, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Shawano Medical Center.
She was born on May 2, 1954, in Milwaukee to Vaughn I. (Vele Doxtater) LaBelle of Bowler and the late Irvin O. Doxtater. She was raised and lived in Milwaukee for many years returning to the Stockbridge-Munsee area 10 years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness and Served on the Board of Education for the Mohican Education Board. She was very active in the neighborhood watch program and community activities. She enjoyed doing bead work and playing bingo. She was very proud of her daughters and hope they follow their dreams.
She is survived by: two daughters, Mercedes J. Martinez and Marita S. Martinez, both of Bowler; mother, Vaughn LaBelle, Bowler; three brothers, Kelly (Becky) Doxtater, Bowler, David (Paula) Doxtater, Green Bay, Mark (Patti) Doxtater, Milwaukee; seven nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness, with the Rev. Stephen Shriner officiating. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Community Cemetery. Malinda Kriefall
Malinda Hulda Emma Kriefall, age 91, of 1124 S. Smalley Street, Shawano, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Shawano.
She was born Oct. 30, 1909, in the Town of Herman, the daughter of the late Henry and Augusta (Schwartz) Otto. She was married June 26, 1929, at Elias Lutheran Church, in the Town of Herman, to Alvin Kriefall. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1997. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Herman for many years, retiring in 1971, when they moved to Shawano. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hermansfort and the Ladies Aid. Her hobbies were embroidering pillowcases and making pillows. She loved to bake and was a wonderful homemaker.
Survivors include: two sons, Roger and Willard (friend Millie), all of Shawano; two daughters, Janet (Arlyn) Tober of Shawano, Jane (Norman) Krueger of Clintonville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church at Hermansfort with the Rev. Roland Golz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Tuesday, Nov 7, from 5 until 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church until the time of services.
Our Mom loved her Lord and her family. She was God-fearing and fun-loving. She taught us to have faith and trust in the Lord. Her family will surely miss her but never forget her love and kindness.

Elfrieda V. Heling
Elfrieda V. Heling, age 88, formerly of N5207 County Highway U, Town of Herman, and a resident of Meadowview, Bonduel, since March, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center in Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks.
Elfrieda was born August 24, 1912, in the Town of Herman, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Carl and Bertha (Meyer) Kopelke. She attended country schools in the Town of Herman. Following school she was employed as a cook at the Ida Brei Boarding House and the Brei Store in Shawano. On May 4, 1932, she was united in marriage to Leo C. Schultz at St. John Lutheran Church, Hermansfort. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Herman. Mr. Schultz preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1940. After his death, Elfrieda continued to farm the homestead with her father until the time of his death. She was later united in marriage to Alvin Heling on March 6, 1943, at St. John Lutheran Church, Hermansfort, with Pastor W.A. Uttech, officiating. The Helings continued on their Town of Herman Farm until retiring in 1979. Mr. Heling preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1999. Elfrieda was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church where she served with the Ladies Aid and also the Cemetery Society. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She loved to bake. She was also a volunteer at the LCFS Thrift Store.
Survivors include: one son, Howard (Carmen) Schultz of Watersmeet, Mich; two daughters, Donnabelle "Dolly" (Ronald) Pleshek of Gresham, Luciann (Raymond) Yeager of Appleton; one daughter-in-law, Betty Heling of Shawano; one sister, Dulice Krumbach of Shawano; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Heling on Sept. 1, 1999, two sisters, Gertrude Schuelke and Alice Roggenbock, one brother and one sister, both in infancy, her step-mother, three step-sisters and two step-brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Hermansfort, with Pastor Roland Golz officiating. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service today from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Dorothy I. Kucksdorf, age 79, formerly of the Town of Wescott, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 7, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past three weeks. Eleanor A. Dehn, age 89, former Bonduel resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later by Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel.

Selma "Dolly" Shest, age 78, of Split Rock, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 7, 2000, at Homme Home of Wittenberg. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton.

Delores C. Tinsman
Delores C. Tinsman, age 84, of Kaukauna, formerly of Shawano, died on Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Kaukauna.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1915, in Shawano, the daughter of the late George and Rose (Krumbach) Braatz. She lived in the Shawano area most of her life and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and yard work. She married Evan T. Tinsman on Nov. 2, 1938, in Shawano. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1988. Delores was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Nancy (Bud) Mueller of Kaukauna; three grandsons, Mike (Kelly) Mueller, Bill Mueller, Dave (Kim) Mueller; five great-grandchildren, Mike, Brianna, Branden, Aaron, Hunter; three sisters; Rose (John) Klimek of Appleton, Lucy Belonger of Chicago and Edith (Milton) Thielke of Duluth, Minn. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Eleanor A. Dehn
Eleanor A. Dehn, age 89, former Bonduel resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000.
She was born March 25, 1911, in the Town of Hartland, to the late John and Matilda (Martin) Hoffman. Eleanor married Bernard Dehn on April 1, 1939, in Green Bay. The couple moved to Bonduel in 1948. Eleanor did housekeeping for many years. She also helped Benny as custodian of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School for five years. In 1997, they became residents of Heartland Health Care Center in Shawano. Eleanor was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bonduel, a former member of Friedens Ladies Aid and had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. Eleanor enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include: her husband, Benny; three sisters-in-law, Doris Hoffman of Shawano, Linda Mentink of Neenah, Cecilia Genke of Bonduel; many nieces and nephews, including Carol (Bob) Luepke of Bonduel, Roger (Shirley) Blom of Rothschild. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Martin, Arthur, Frank and John; three sisters, Elsie DeSwarte, Della Weber and Sarah Hoppe.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Philip Geiger officiating. Selma "Dolly" Shest, age 78, of N3275 County SS, Tigerton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Homme Home of Wittenberg. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton is assisting the family.
The former Selma Lenora Hoffman was born May 25, 1922, in Tigerton. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mathilda (Radke) Hoffman. Selma graduated from high school and worked in Milwaukee for a short time. She was united in marriage to Louis Shest on Dec. 15, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church in Tigerton. Dolly worked as a nurse's aid in Milwaukee, Shawano and Tigerton. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tigerton, Zion WELCA and the Zion church choir. Dolly enjoyed bowling, crafts, sewing and fishing.
Survivors include: her husband, Louis; an adopted daughter, Penny Rae Zimmerman of Little Chute; five grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Sandberg of Milwaukee, Charlotte Jeske of West Allis; one brother, Harold (Grace) Hoffman of Tigerton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Tigerton with the Rev. Howard Buenting officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Split Rock. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Sue Ann Flatoff
Sue Ann (Hogan) Flatoff, age 50, of Neenah, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000.
She was born on Jan. 31, 1950, in Neenah, daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Broehm) Hogan. Sue married Garry Flatoff on Nov. 15, 1968 in Menasha. She was a resident of Neenah and Menasha all of her life. Sue loved her grandchildren. She owned a craft and ceramics shop in Menasha where she enjoyed teaching. Sue was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and formerly the head of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America in the Fox Valley.
She is survived by: her husband, Garry; a son, Kenneth (Kathy) Flatoff, Menasha; two grandchildren, Kollin and Kaylee; her mother, Alice Hogan, Neenah; a brother, Ronald (Belinda) Hogan, Shawano. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hogan, a sister, Donna Bunda, and a brother, Gary. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Seim officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America. Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah, is assisting the family.

Dorothy I. Kucksdorf
Dorothy I. Kucksdorf, age 79, formerly of the Town of Wescott and the Outagamie County Health Care Center in Appleton, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 7, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.
Dorothy was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Tigerton, a daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Yonker) Bernarde. She attended country schools near Tigerton. Following school she did various odd jobs to promote the war effort. On May 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Millerd Kucksdorf in Bowler. Following their marriage the couple lived in Appleton, Two Rivers, Wittenberg and later the Town of Wescott. The couple owned and operated Kucksdorf's Store in the Town of Wescott from the mid 50's until retiring in the early 70's. Dorothy later was employed at the Coast to Coast Store in Shawano. Her husband preceded her in death on May 19, 2000. She was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano and currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Dorothy was a magical seamstress. She loved flowers and always had a flourishing garden which included vegetables. She also enjoyed small game hunting with her husband when they were younger.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna (John) VanBuecken of Appleton; three sons, David (Maryjane) Kucksdorf of Eden, Dan (Marie) Kucksdorf of Portage, Doug (Sandy) Kucksdorf of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Amie, Brandon, Kayla, Heather and Ryan Kucksdorf; one sister, Agnes Zeinert, a resident of Homme Home of Wittenberg; one sister-in-law, Ramona Bernarde of Wittenberg. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Pastor Philip Bogen officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Russell F. Ringel
Russell F. Ringel, age 80, Shawano, died on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at a local nursing home.
He was born June 29, 1920, in the Town of Herman, Shawano County. He was the son of the late Fredrick and Louise (Viergutz) Ringel. He was employed at Consolidated Badger for many years, then at Dey Construction and Hillshire Farms until retiring in 1985. He enjoyed gardening, puttering with his trucks and machinery and watching baseball. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Pearl Butt on August 24, 1946, in Leopolis. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1987. He later married Dorothy (Huebner) Timm on April 30, 1988, in Lampson, Wis. Russell was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman, a member of the church's cemetery society, a past church trustee and a member of the Gresham American Legion Post #390.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy; four daughters, JoAnn (Jay) Kleiber of Wausau, Kathleen Weber of Germantown, Cheryl (Bill Erickson) Ringel of Oregon, Wis., Brenda (Paul) Hinahara of Madison; a son, Michael (Carrie) Ringel of Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; three step-children, Ronald (Nancy) Timm of Albert Lea, Minn., Gerald (Terrie) Timm of Shawano, Betty (David) Laatsch of Tigerton; 12 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Hammes of Milwaukee, Marge (Clyde) Schmidt of Gresham, Marilyn (Keith) Rudesill of Bonduel, Yvonne (Robert) Miller of Gresham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Hattie (Earl) Pattis of Appleton, Sylvia Gast of Shawano, Earl (Elaine) Butt of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., Alice Schilling of Brownsville, Texas, Mabel (Milton) Nordwig of Leopolis, Bob Hertig of Hales Corners; other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Mildred M. Robertson
Mildred M. Robertson, age 68, of 125 Birch Street, Tigerton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton is assisting the family.
The former Mildred Mae Kaja was born Feb. 13, 1932, at Wisconsin Rapids and was the daughter of the late William V. and Mary (Tiegs) Kaja. She was united in marriage to Frank R. Robertson on July 5, 1952, in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Tigerton in 1966, where they had lived since. Mr. Robertson passed away on Aug. 17, 1980. Mildred was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. She had many interests including doing latch hook rugs, gardening, animals, birds, music and the Green Bay Packers. Most of all, she loved her family and her grandchildren.
Survivors include: one daughter, Catherine (David) Jensen of Tigerton; one son, William (Linda) Robertson of Tigerton; two grandchildren, Tanja (Shawn) Ellis of Gold Bar, Wash., Patrick Jensen of Tigerton; one great-grandson, Skyler Ellis; one sister, Margaret (Marvin) Nordstrum of Wisconsin Rapids. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Robertson, her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton with the Rev. Michael Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Morris. Friends may call this evening from 4 until 8 at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton and on Saturday at the church from noon until the time of services.

Allan R. Thompson
Allan R. Thompson, age 76, of 11975 East Anderson Lake Lane, Suring, formerly of Shawano, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Shawano.
He was born Feb. 18, 1924, at Shawano, the son of the late Earl and Esther (Krueger) Thompson. He lived in Shawano most of his life where he owned and operated Thompson Carpentry Service. He was a veteran of World War II, a charter member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano, a member of the Shawano Masonic Lodge # 170 F. & A. M., All Scottish Rite Bodies, BEJA Shrine Temple in Green Bay and the Shawano Shrine Club. He was married on April 21, 1944, in Shawano, to Violet M. Hamann. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1991.
Mr. Thompson is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Colette Thompson of Shawano; two grandsons, Paul and David (Nancy), all of Green Bay; one sister, Ila Schultz and one brother, Earl "Hank" (Elaine) Thompson, all of Shawano. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary, a brother, Kenneth "Buck" Thompson, two step-brothers, Gene and Harold Galland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating. Lucille I. Koepsell

She was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Caroline, the daughter of the late Gustave and Elsie (Watters) Schultz. On Sept. 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to Roger Koepsell at Caroline. Mrs. Koepsell was a very active person who enjoyed crafting ceramics and giving her projects away with love. She enjoyed fishing, camping and playing bingo with her husband. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.
Survivors include: her husband, Roger Koepsell of Shawano; children, Betty Bauer of Lake Stevens, Wash., Bruce (Mary) Koepsell of Shawano, Ronald Koepsell of Shawano, Duane (Mary) Koepsell of Pulaski, David Koepsell of Hudson; four grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Dustin and Amanda Koepsell; sisters, Clara Peters of Marion, Ella (Marvin) Kraut of Conover, Irene (Eugene) Zeinert of Weyauwega. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Arthur and Clarence Schultz.

Adeline E. (Mantick) Schreiber
Adeline E. (Mantick) Schreiber, age 92, of Shawano, died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at a local nursing home.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1908, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Alma M. (Kapajewski) Stienberg. She lived most of her adult life in the Milwaukee area and moved to the Shawano area in 1967. She enjoyed embroidery and taking care of children. Adeline married Rudolph Mantick on Nov. 1, 1941, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1965. She married George Schreiber on March 23, 1974, in Gresham. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1997. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Shawano Ward, was a visiting teacher and a nursery class teacher.
She is survived by: a daughter, Margaret (Delroy) Stoehr of Shawano; a stepdaughter, Darla Kloepffer of Gurnee, Ill; a stepdaughter-in-law, Ellen Schreiber of Bowler; seven grandchildren, Stanley (Debra) Stoehr of Appleton, Cindy (Keith) Lookman of Green Bay, Ellen (Todd) Thompson of Chubbuck, Idaho, Kari (Harold) Brown of Shawano, Kenneth (special friend, Rhonda) Stoehr of Pulaski, Ronald Stoehr of Pulcifer, Crystal Stoehr of Shawano; nine great-grandchildren; Harry, Michael, Brittney, Karissa, Amanda, Brandon, Courtney, Ken Jr., and William. She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Duane Schreiber, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Shawano Ward, with Bishop Lee Gueller officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee. William F. Grosskopf
William F. Grosskopf, age 73, Cecil, passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Shawano.
William was born Feb. 18, 1927, to the late William and Sophia (Hofman) Grosskopf at Shawano. On May 18, 1946, he married Dorothy Mesman at Seattle, Wash. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy for three years.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy; four children, Marsha (Larry) Sadler of Shawano, Rhonda Thurman of Cecil, Mike (Peggy) Grosskopf of Clearmont, Ga., Debra (Richard) Rasmusson of Merrill; nine grandchildren, Christy, Trampus, Tonia, Matt, Stacy, Sara, Andy, Jason, Jenna; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Owen of Shawano; one brother, Tom Grosskopf of Beaver Dam. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons-in-law, one grandson, one sister and one brother.
A private memorial service will be held at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Feay officiating.

Joseph E. Boivin, age 71, formerly of Neopit, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano.

Eunice M. Berglund
Eunice M. Berglund, passed away Nov. 11, 2000, where she was a resident of Alterra-Clare Bridge, 14001 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, Ariz. 85375.
Eunice was a Public Health Nurse for the State of Alaska, for 24 years. She also served in the Army Nurses Corps as a 1st. Lieutenant from May 1944 to July 1946. She graduated from Kahler School of Nursing, Rochester, Minn., in 1943 and received a graduate degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. She also was a Shawano County Health Nurse. Prior to entering nurses training, she taught public school for 12 years.
She is survived by: two sisters, Jean Goodwyn of Sun City West, Ariz., and Ann Larson of Green Bay, Wis.; five nephews and two nieces.
Private services were held. No memorials have been established.

Carol Joyce Ostrander
Carol Joyce Ostrander, age 67, of N5617 Bluebird Road, Tigerton, passed away on Nov. 13, 2000, at home.
The former Carol Scheels was born on Oct. 1, 1933, at Ironwood, Michigan. Ms. Scheels was a Korean War era veteran. Ms. Scheels married Charles Gordon Ostrander on July 3rd, 1958, at the 1st Methodist Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He survives. Mrs. Ostrander was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard and Hazel Scheels, a brother and his wife, Bill (Sally) Scheels and a brother-in-law, Ken Vaughn.
Surviving family includes: a brother, Jack (Jackie) Scheels; sisters, Marion (Ken) Vaughn and Janet (Bob) Kass, all of Crivitz, Wisconsin. Surviving children include: Debra (Steve) Link of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Denise Ostrander of Chicago, Illinois, Michael (Diana) Ostrander of Rantoul, Illinois, Christine (Bill) Fletcher of Wittenberg, Wisconsin, Tammy (Tom) Clauss of Mayer, Arizona, Thomas (Jean) Ostrander of Tigerton, Wisconsin; and fourteen grandchildren.
Visitation is tentatively scheduled at 2 p.m. on Nov. 15th at Rhodes & Beil Funeral Home, 127 Cedar Street, Tigerton, with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at the same location. Mrs. Ostrander attended Shawano Christian Center in Shawano.

Joseph E. Boivin
Joseph E. Boivin, age 71, formerly of Neopit, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Maple Lane Health Care Center, Shawano.
He was born in Keshena on Feb. 19, 1929, the son of the late Joseph W. and Annie (Frechette) Boivin Sr. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Neopit. He worked for MTE on the green chain. He was then employed by the Maynard Steel Company of Milwaukee until his retirement in 1975 at which time he moved back to the Menominee Reservation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing.
He is survived by: one daughter, Diana "D" Lyons of Shawano; one grandson, Levi Lyons; six sisters, Evelyn Dieckriede of Saginaw, Mich., Margaret (Edward) Bohman of Stephensville, Mary Jane Zipperer of Racine, Rose (Alfred) Waubanascum of Neopit, Edith C. LeRoy of Neopit, Phyllis (John) Nahwahquaw of Zoar; four brothers, John (Dorla) Boivin of Neopit, Phillip (Judy) Boivin of Antigo, William (special friend, Janice) Boivin of Milwaukee, Robert (Kathy) Boivin of Shawano; many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Boivin and Edna Caldwell, two brothers, Donald and Raymond Boivin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at noon, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the John Boivin residence, River View Circle, Neopit, after noon today until the time of services on Saturday. There will be a prayer service held at the residence on Friday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano is assisting the family.

Joyce E. Moesch, age 58, 1010 E. Lieg Avenue, Shawano, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center of Neenah.
She was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Colby, Wis., the daughter of the late Fredrick and Lena (Fischer) Diedrich. For many years she had been employed by Shawano County as a custodian at the Shawano County Courthouse and Shawano County Jail. Joyce was a loving, caring mother and grandmother who always opened her home to family and friends and enjoyed cooking and baking for all. She was a great lover of gardening and flowering. Joyce will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful and caring friend to all who knew her.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Todd Hansen and son and daughter-in-law, Daniel "Boone" and Terri Jo Moesch, all of Shawano; six beloved grandchildren, D. J., Amy, Ambre, Andrea, Krystal, Simon; former husband, Lawrence Moesch of the Town of Wescott, Shawano; sister, Doraine Werlinger of West Allis; brothers, Norb (special friend, Mae) Diedrich of Colby, Wis., Carl (Nancy) Diedrich of Tripoli, Wis. She was also preceded in death by: a son, Andrew Moesch on Sept. 30, 1996; two brothers, Fredrick and Harold Diedrich.

Helen A. "Ma-Sha-Ka-Tokie' Thunder
Helen A. "Ma-Sha-Ka-Tokie' Thunder, age 88, of Evergreen Healthcare Center, Shawano, formerly of Zoar, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in Shawano.
She was born June 26, 1912, in Zoar. She was united in marriage to Dewey Thunder Sr. He preceded her in death in March of 1959. She enjoyed sewing, beadwork and Indian dancing. She was very involved with the Big Drum. She was also involved in the traditional ways of native living and taught them to the young children and grandchildren.
She is survived by: one daughter, Diana Thunder, Keshena; five sons, Dewey (Donna) Thunder Jr., Zoar, Pete (Terri) Thunder, Zoar, Chuck (Valerie) Thunder, Keshena, Martin Thunder, Keshena, Brian (Cindy) Grignon, Green Bay; 38 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, A-Bi-Tak and Sko-Da-Quaw Martin, the proud children of Agoshee Doud and Joseph Martin Sr. She was preceded in death by two sons, Darwin and Louis, one grandson, Duane Thunder, one granddaughter, Andrea Thunder, one brother, Johnson Awonohopay, several nieces and nephews.
Burial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Zoar Indian Burial Grounds with Mr. Billy Daniels officiating. Lyle C. "Buzzard' Engel
Lyle C. "Buzzard" Engel, age 68, Gresham, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
He was born on March 11, 1932, in the Town of Waukechon. Lyle attended grade school in Bonduel and was a graduate of Marion High School. During high school he was very athletic and was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams. Following graduation he enlisted in the Coast Guard. He was an independent milk hauler to Consolidated Badger for many years, worked at FWD Corporation and the Shawano Leader, then was a sawer at local saw mills. During his leisure time Lyle enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, dancing, bowling, watching football and baseball games, pelting mink, and during the hunting season, skinning deer at a local meat market. He attended St. John Lutheran Church at Hermansfort and was a member of the Gresham American Legion Post #390.
Survivors include: three daughters, Diane (special friend, Harley) of Berry Lake, Judy (Mike) Rosenberg of Shawano, Jill (fiance, Shawn) of Shawano Lake; two sons, Daryl (special friend, Carol) of Boca Raton, Fla., Jay (Andrea) of Bonduel; six grandchildren, "Buck", Michelle, Jamie, Christie, Derek, Dean; two great-grandchildren, Jarret, Toni; a brother, Jerry (Marlene) Schultz of Leopolis; former wife, Deloris Engel of Shawano. Lyle was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Thompson, grandparents, Fred and Amalia Engel and a grandson, Dalton Zarda. Lyle will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful and caring person by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with the Rev. Roland Golz officiating. Military rites by the Gresham American Legion Post #390 will follow. Burial will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Lunds. Elizabeth R. Froemming
Elizabeth Froemming, age 91, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000.
She was born on June 5, 1909, in Green Bay, to the late John and Margaret (Pevonka) Blohowiak. She grew up on a farm near Pulaski and worked in a store in Zachow. Liz married William Froemming on July 30, 1928, in Oconto. The couple farmed in the Town of Washington before moving to Bonduel in 1945. William preceded her in death on May 4, 1974. Liz enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, baking and taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Becky Froemming, Bonduel; two grandsons, Andrew, Bonduel, and Clarence Jr. (Sara) Froemming, Bonduel; four stepchildren, Tammi (Jeff) Stevenson, Tracy (Edward) Domozik, Robin (Michael) Moore and Daniel (Shirley) Turner; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Martha) Blohowiak and Clarence (Carrie) Blohowiak, both of Pulaski: a sister, Beatrice Albers, Algoma. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Noah, a daughter-in-law, Marlene, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, with the Rev. Leonard Wildauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jean C. Kamke
Jean C. Kamke, age 52, of Appleton, died on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
She was born in Shiocton on May 12, 1948, to the late Fred and Marcella (Helms) Kamke.
She will be sadly missed by: her daughter, Shelby (Cory) Wessley of Kimberly; granddaughter, Ashley; brothers and sisters, Fern (Peter) Taylor of Appleton, LaVern Rice of New London, Kenneth Kamke of Fremont, Lorraine (Eugene) Young of Bonduel, Linda (Gerald) Young of Shawano, JoAnn Taylor of Appleton, Hope Prahl of New London, Jane (Neil) Pomerenke of Waupaca, Della Prahl of Clintonville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred "Fritz" Kamke and two infant sisters, Pearl and Judy Kamke.

Violet O. Luepke
Violet O. Luepke, age 81, a resident of Meadowview of Bonduel, formerly of Shawano, passed away Friday afternoon, Nov. 17, 2000, at Shawano Medical Center with her family by her side.
Violet was born on April 8, 1919, in the Town of Hartland, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Frederick and Clara (Busch) Lemberg. On May 30, 1936, she was united in marriage to Alfred H. Luepke in Bonduel. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Hartland for many years, retiring in 1970. Following their retirement, the couple moved to Shawano and Vi was employed as a housekeeper for over 25 years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 9, 1984. She was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bonduel and was currently a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Vi was very active in church affairs at St. James including: serving with the Ladies Aid, being a greeter, a quilter and also helped with the hot lunch program. She also worked on the Lutheran Womens Missionary League for many years, was a member of AAL and the "55 or Better" club.
Survivors include: one son, Larry (Sally) Luepke of Bonduel; four daughters, Betty (Gerald) Dehn of Bonduel, Audrey (Roger) Wood of Pulaski, Karen (Dennis) Stoltenow of Bonduel, Lana (Steve) Reinke of Shawano; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Falk of Shawano. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, one brother and two sisters.

Lucille M. "Lucy" Peterman, age 81, of 217 Cherry Lane, Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 25, 2000, at her residence.
Lucy was born on Sept. 30, 1919, in Berlin, Wis., to Philip J. and Agnes (Mason) Raszkowski. She married Lloyd L. Peterman on June 26, 1943.
She is survived by: her husband, Lloyd L. of Wapakoneta, Ohio; two sons, Lloyd J. (Carol) Peterman of Hernando, Fla., Tom (Kathy) Peterman of Wapakoneta, Ohio; one daughter, Sally (Don) Smith of Van Wert, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Robert Raszkowski of Belize, Central America; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey (Edna) Peterman of Shawano; many nieces, nephews and friends. Albert E. Schilling
Albert E. Schilling, age 69, of 10 Pioneer Parkway, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Pella, the son of Albert E. and Emgard (Nordwig) Schilling, Sr. Mr. Schilling worked for Service Bakery as a truck driver. He also worked as an officer clerk in a auto dealership and at O'Connor Oil from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Phoebe (Roy) Taskinen of Racine; two nieces, Dale (Robert) Bonn of Kenosha, Carol (Carl) Wondra of Racine; other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd.
Funeral services are being held today, at noon, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac with the Rev. David Lieske officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Stacy Jaje
Stacy Jaje will be remembered for her energy, bubbly personality and humor. She loved children and had worked in daycare and in the Penny's photography department helping make families smile.
Stacy passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the age of 19. She was born Sept. 14, 1981, in Waukesha, to Sandy (Pederson) Jaje of Wausau and the late Mark Jaje. Stacy had attended Wausau West High School and was a 2000 graduate of the NorthCentral Technical College alternative high school program. She had plans to continue her education at NTC. Stacy was currently employed by Westphal Staffing Agency and was manager of the Wausau Girl Scout store.
She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her cat, Ozzy, listening to music and visiting with all her friends.
Survivors include: her mother, Sandy Jaje of Wausau; two sisters, Kari Jaje of Wausau, Michelle (James) Bergsrud of Racine; maternal grandparents, Wally and June Pederson and paternal grandmother, Beverly Stanton, all of Shawano; Stacy's special friends, Tom Gore, Tony Franken, Bonnie Peterson, Melissa Gore, Carol Tomczck, Michelle Woldt. Stacy was further preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, David and Elaine Jaje.

Mrs. Andrew (Helen E.) Rank, age 88, Cecil, was called to her heavenly home, Sunday evening, Nov. 19, 2000, at Evergreen Health Care Center in Shawano.
She was born Sept. 20, 1912, in the Town of Washington, Shawano County, to the late William and Wilhemine (Moesch) Wasmund. On June 18, 1930, Helen married Andrew Rank at White Clay Lake Church. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1987. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pulcifer.
Helen is survived by: four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Shirley of Cecil, Arvin and Darlene of Neenah, Dennis and Sally of Shawano, Elwyn and Jane of Cecil; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Marvin Riegert, Peggy and Ronald Boldt, all of Shawano; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Rueckert of Suring, Mrs. Hildegard Uelman of Shawano, Mrs. Clara Druckrey of Gillett; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marcella LaGary of Shawano; two brothers-in-law, Marvin (Clara) Rank of Gillett, Dell Gutheridge of Green Bay. She was also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.

Donovan "Don' L. Clement
Donovan "Don" L. Clement, age 79, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., formerly of Shawano, died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Sierra Vista.
He was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Everett, Wash., the son of the late Charles M. and Alma K. (Sorensen) Clement. Don was raised in Shawano as a child. He served with the United States Army in World War II in the South Pacific. He returned to Shawano in 1964 where he owned and operated the Shawano Insurance Center until retiring. He moved to Sierra Vista in 1995. Don enjoyed golfing in his leisure time. He married Adelaide Grasse on Sept. 14, 1946, at Sister Bay, Wis. She preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1982. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the Evangelism Committee and the Endowment Fund Committee for several years and was a past president of the congregation. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Shawano American Legion Post #117, life member of the Appleton Jaycees and a Gold Key Award recipient; also a past member of the Shawano Club.
Survivors include: a daughter, Donna Jean (Peter) Putnam of Apple Valley, Minn; two sons, James Charles (Beth) Clement of Glendale, Ariz., Gary Donovan (Beth) Clement of New Hampshire; five grandchildren, Thomas Clement of Plymouth, Minn., Ginny Clement of Milwaukee, Brett Putnam of Apple Valley, Minn., Charles Clement of New Hampshire, Patrick Clement of New Hampshire; a sister, Ada K. Larsen of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Evelyn E. Carver
Evelyn E. Carver, age 65, of N2688 South Korth Lane, Clintonville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Shawano.
She was born on June 4, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of the late Harold and Stella McWilliams. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Shawano. She was the owner of the Hill Top Tavern, Shawano Lake. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn was very active with the VFW, Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and the DAV.
She is survived by: three sons, Leonard (Diana) Bergh, Shawano, Larry (Debbie) Bergh, Merrill, Dennis Bergh, California; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther (Harry) Denier, Betty Matt and Artis; one brother, Edward McWilliams, all of Michigan. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee and one brother.

Carl O. Gardebrecht
Carl Gardebrecht, age 81, Bonduel, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000.
He was born on July 8, 1919, in the Town of Howe, Oconto County, to the late Richard and Mary (Schoss) Gardebrecht. Carl served in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He worked for the Pulaski Shoe Factory for many years. He married Lucille Schultz on Sept. 27, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church, Zachow. The couple lived in Bonduel all of their married life. After retiring, Carl worked for the Village of Bonduel. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and traveling.
Survivors include: his wife, Lucille; two sisters, Emma Heise of Suring and Rufina (Roman) Wagner of Suring; a brother-in-law, Hilbert Schultz of Zachow and a sister-in-law, Leona Klevesahl of Bonduel; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Rick A. Raddant
Rick A. Raddant, age 44, of W5844 Sunset Circle, Town of Wescott, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at the Shawano Medical Center.
Rick was born Jan. 5, 1956, in Shawano, the son of Donald and Verna (Roloff) Raddant. He attended the Shawano schools, graduating in 1974. Following school he was employed at Deys Construction in Shawano and for Orvis Bohm. On Aug. 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to the former Jan Staniforth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Rick was currently employed at C.C. Construction of Shawano as a concrete worker. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano. Rick was an outstanding first baseman, playing for the Shawano Lakers baseball team for many years. He also enjoyed playing billiards.
Survivors include: his wife, Jan, of the Town of Wescott; three children, Brandi Raddant of Oshkosh, Bobbi (Brad) Smith of Minneapolis, Minn., and Benjamin Raddant at home; his parents, Donald and Verna Raddant of Shawano; one brother, Randy (Patti) Raddant of Shawano; one sister, Kristy (George) Fehr of Shawano; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Bea Staniforth of the Town of Wescott; two brothers-in-law, Pat (Cindy) Staniforth and Tom Jr. (Kathy) Staniforth, both of Shawano; two sisters-in-law, Laurel Staniforth of Necedah and Kathy (Jim) Welcing of Bonduel; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

David A. Gmirek, age 59, of Menasha, passed away on Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Neenah.
He was born on Aug. 5, 1941, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Herek) Gmirek. He had been employed by the Warehouse Specialist Corporation in Menasha. He enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, using the computer, and going to the Milwaukee Brewers spring training camp in Arizona. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by: two sisters, Judith (Michael) Ryan of Stanley, N.D. and Patricia (Clyde) Strehlow of Pella.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with the Rev. Harry Hafeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Leopolis. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until the time of services. There will be full military services held at the funeral home.

Alta T. Wilber, age 95, formerly of Route 2, Shawano, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center.
She was born May 13, 1905, at Seymour, the daughter of the late Albert and Pauline (Topel) Sturm. She lived in Shawano County most of her life. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena. She was married on Feb. 10, 1924, in Appleton, to Franklin R. Wilber Sr. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1981.
She is survived by: her children, George Wilber, Oshkosh, Beulah (Verlyn) Spreeman, Suring, Maynard Wilber, Keshena, Marion "Bernard' (Doris) Wilber, Appleton, Barbara (LaRoy "Mun') Miller, Bowler, Roger (Darlene) Wilber, Oshkosh, Beverly Wilber, Shawano; three daughters-in-law, Luretta Wilber, Suring, Sylvia Wilber, Gillett, Carla Wilber, Keshena; 43 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons, Earl, Gene, David and Franklin Jr., a daughter-in-law, Marcella, a grandson, a great-granddaughter, three sisters and one brother.

Arthur William Wendorff
Arthur William Wendorff, age 88, of W8855 County Highway M, Shawano, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1912, in the Town of Richmond, the son of the late Albert and Louise (Mansee) Wendorff. He was married on May 14, 1939, to Dorothy Teetzen. Art lived in Shawano County all of his life and owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Belle Plaine, until his retirement. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed having his family with him. He was a faithful life-long member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church and served as an elder and trustee. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, making firewood and deer hunting. He also spent many hours in his tool shop working on his inventions.
Art is survived by: his wife, Dorothy; four children, Frank (Gertrude) Wendorff, Gary (Kathie) Wendorff, Shirley (Howie) Popp, Mary (Jerry) Ludolph, all of Shawano; a sister, Linda Bohm; 10 grandchildren, Randy Linde, Joe (Annette) Wendorff, Mike (Diane) Wendorff, Dana (Al) Amdahl, Nina Wendorff, Lars (Amy Krause) Wendorff, Greta Wendorff, Andy Popp, Jeff and Jason Ludolph; great-grandchildren, Cody and Jesse Linde, Tanji and Tom Wendorff, Tyler Wendorff, Martha and Anders Amdahl, and Hannah Wendorff. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Rueben, Bob and Bill, two sisters, Rose Engel and Lora Wendorff, two sisters and one brother died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church, Town of Richmond, with the Rev. Timothy Lamkin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the of services.

Harry Jacob Erb
Harry Jacob Erb, age 96, of W6185 Erb Road, Shiocton, died early Monday morning, Nov. 27, 2000, at Birch Hill Health Care Center, Shawano.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1904, in the Township of Angelica, the son of the late Edgar and Diane (McKenna) Erb. Harry farmed in the Navarino township until his retirement. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino.
He is survived by: his son, Lewellen (Barb) Erb, Shiocton; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Erb, Malibu, Calif.; five grandchildren, Luke, Nathalie, Jenifer, Allen, and Claude; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Erb, Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, one son, Arkel, four brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino, from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Lisa Stafford officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family.

Virginia M. Steinke
Virginia M. Steinke, age 77, of Tigerton, formerly of Leopolis, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Shawano.
She was born on July 17, 1923, at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late George and Victoria (Krylowski) Ogurek. She lived in Shawano County most of her married life. She enjoyed doing crafts and baking. On Aug. 25, 1945, she married Melvin "Butch" Steinke at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leopolis. He preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1992.
Virginia is survived by: two daughters, Juanita Thiele, Demark, Wis., Faye (Stanley) Menzel, Tigerton; three sons, Jerome "Sid" (Sandy) Steinke, Florence, Wis., Thaddeus (Cathy) Steinke, Layton, Utah, Timothy (fiancee, Karen) Steinke, Leopolis; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Ramona (Frank) Szczech, Gloria (John) Wojcik; three brothers, George (Dorothy) Ogurek, Raymond (Violet) Ogurek, Gene (Santa) Ogurek. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with the Rev. Harry Hafeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leopolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. on Monday until the time of services.

Walter H. Gipp
Walter H. Gipp, age 95, peacefully passed to his Heavenly Father early Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2000, at his home in Cecil.
He was born Sept. 29, 1905, in the Town of Hartland. He was the son of the late Frank and Hulda (Bublitz) Gipp. He was married to the love of his life, Esther Marohl, on Feb. 17, 1928, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake. Walter lived in Shawano County his entire life. He owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Washington until his retirement when he moved to the Village of Cecil. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He enjoyed his family and especially enjoyed a good game of sheepshead at family gatherings. He was a faithful member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Cecil, serving on the Consistory in his younger years.
Walter is survived by: his beloved wife, Esther; five sons, Robert (Jeanne) Gipp of Brookfield, Marvin (Janet) Gipp of Cecil, Donald (Lila) Gipp of Annandale, Minn., Maynard (Marla) Gipp of Kaukauna, Frank (Joan) Gipp of Kaukauna; one daughter, Ruby Ann (Alan) Grutza of Shawano; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, William, Arnold, Louis and Leonard (infancy); sisters, Emma (infancy), Frieda, Dora and Anna; one grandchild, Susan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Cecil with the Rev. Sara Hartman officiating. Friends may call at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil on Friday, Dec. 1, from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of services. Burial will be on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.

Ardale G. Hirt
Ardale G. Hirt, age 92, formerly of Tigerton, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, 2000, at Homme Home of Wittenberg where she had been a resident for many years. Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton is assisting the family.
The former Ardale Gleora Gurholt was born Sept. 22, 1908, at Scandinavia, Wis., the daughter of the late Jonas and Anna (Dahlen) Gurholt. She was a graduate of Stevens Point Normal School with a teaching degree, taught school at Arnott, Wis. and later at Tigerton Elementary School. She was united in marriage to Erwin Hirt on July 14, 1938, at Scandinavia. The couple lived their married lives in the Tigerton area. Erwin passed away on April 1, 1984. Ardale was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton, St. John's Ladies Aid, had served as church organist and was a member of the church choir. She had also participated in a community choral group during the 1950's. Her interests included music, reading and scrabble.
Survivors include: a son, Dorian (Judith) Hirt of Eland; a daughter, Dorothy Hirt of Fairfax, Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Delmar Gurholt of Waupaca. Ardale was preceded in death by: her husband, Erwin; one son, Norman; one brother, Carsten; one sister, Ovadia.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton with the Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton and on Friday at the church from 9:30 until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ardale's name.

Gordon H. Cowles
Gordon H. Cowles, age 82, Wittenberg, died on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Wausau Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg.

Mrs. Leland (Monica) Peeters
Mrs. Leland (Monica) Peeters, age 65, of N1008 Navarino Road, Bonduel, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, 2000, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1934, the daughter of Iris (Caviner) Young and the late Raymond Young. On April 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Leland Peeters in Bear Creek. Monica and her husband farmed together for 45 years in Navarino. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino, and was also a member of the Mary Maids Homemakers. Monica was an officer and leader in 4-H, a member of the Shawano County Pork Producers and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening, had a love for animals and her tractor collection.
She is survived by: her husband, Leland; children, Darwin (Cindy) Peeters, Pulaski, Daniel (Valerie) Peeters, Green Bay, Dennis (Debra) Peeters, Bonduel, Cyndi (Joe) Meidam, Shawano, Larry (Robin) Peeters, Pulaski, Judy (Jim) Hesse, Clintonville, Tim Peeters (special friend, Malia Leick), Green Bay; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jesse, Cami, Carami, Ashley, and Michael Peeters, Amy and Brooke Meidam, Nicholas and Jamie Hesse; her mother, Iris (Fred) Pre Fontaine, Shawano; mother-in-law, Marjorie Eulrich, Clintonville; a sister, Priscilla Darling, Neenah; a brother, Roger (Beverly) Young, Iola. She was preceded in death by her father and father-in-law. Raymond F. Teetzen
Raymond F. Teetzen, age 83, of W2252 North Street, Sheboygan Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1917, in the Town of Richmond, Shawano County, the son of the late Louis and Mary Heimer Teetzen. He attended Shawano public schools and Shawano High School. On Dec. 17, 1939, he was united in marriage to Irene Weber in the Town of Richmond. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1950. Ray was a group leader at Thomas Industries where he was employed for 26 years, retiring in 1983.
He is survived by: his wife, Irene; four children, Dennis (Kandy), Sheboygan, Cinnie (friend, Dick Lueneburg) Malwitz, Jackson, Wis., Bruce (Bev) Amberg, Wis., Jon (Sue), Sheboygan Falls; 10 grandchildren, Deenice (Chris) Werner, Sheboygan, Deana Teetzen, Sheboygan, Wayne (Jan) Malwitz, Grafton, Wis., Wade (Kelly) Mawlitz, Portland, Ore., Wynn Ann (Michael) Kucher, Waterford, Va., Brad (Lisa) Teetzen, Sheboygan, Brian (Tracy) Teetzen, Coroapolis, Pa., Brenda Teetzen, Wausaukee, Wis., Samantha and Caitlyn Teetzen, Sheboygan Falls; eight grandchildren; one nephew, Gary (Betty) Teetzen, Menasha, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Reinhardt and David.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Lippert Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment was held in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for Community Home Nursing and Hospice of St. Nicholas Hospital.
