Notes:

James came from Monaghan, Ireland according to the convict records. He was born around 1780, and was a weaver by trade. He was tried in Monaghan in August 1800 and sentenced to life. His age was listed as 20 years. He arrived at Port Jackso n on 12 May 1803 aboard the Rolla. He was 5'5" tall, had brown hair and hazel eyes. On arrival at the colony he was assigned to the farmer Richard Rouse on the Hawkesbury River. He received a Conditional pardon 31 Jan 1814. James applied for a gr ant of land at Kurrajong on 25 May 1820.

Mary had been sentenced to 7 years transportation on the ship Friends for stealing twenty yards of cloth. She was convicted at Middlesex on 11 April 1810, and was then 30 years of age. Her son William accompanied her on the voyage, arriving in 18 11.
