Thalmann Lineage
My knowledge of the origin of this family is somewhat sketchy. I have been piecing together information received from Dorothy Thalmann Connell and a few other members of the family. As I receive new information and get it sorted, I will post it here.The first known ancestor is Jakob Thalmann [1796-1866] and his wife, Susanna Studer. They had 12 children.
Currently, only Johan Jakob, Gottleib, and Marie Agatha, children of Johann Jakob, grandchildren of Jakob Thalmann, is known to have immigrated to America. Gottlieb immigrated on 11/28/1889, through the Port of New York on the ship 'La Normandie', sailing out of Saint Nazaire, France.
