Daniel Burgner and Ephraim Parman were captured at Vicksburg on Big Black River. Burgner was sent to Ft. Delaware Prison on the Delaware River. Died of cholear and buried in Finn Rt. Cemetery, Salem N. J. Ephrain Parman went down in the Sultana Steamboat explosion above Memphis Apr. 29, 1865. He must have beena Union prisoner. The Henderson Cemetery is located on the north edge of the Beaver Creek Community. Access is by private land and gained by a long gravel drive up a hill and through a Christmas tree farm. Today (1988) the gravel drive to the cemetery is located on the east side of Peterson Road just south of the Erwin Road intersection.
The cemetery is on land that was once owned by Perman HENDERSON who settled in the community in 1857. Perman HENDERSON first settled near Wren in 1853, but in 1857 moved to the community north of Beaver Creek and about three and one-half miles south of Philomath.
The Henderson Cemetery was started as a family cemetery, but neighbors were also buried there. The ground was never dedicated as a public cemetery. The earliest date on a marked grave is 1885, the grave of M.E. HENDERSON, son of William HENDERSON. Most notable is the grave (unmarked) of William F. DIXON, co-founder of the town of Corvallis. A plat of the cemetery was never filed with the county.

Like a large portion of the people of Caldwell county, and especiallyof this vicinity, Mr. Parman is of Kentucky antecedents. His ancestry, however, on his father's side, dates back to England during the early part of the eighteenth century. His grandmother came originally from New Jersey. Jesse's parents were Frethias and Elizabeth (Curtis) Parman, both of Kentucky birth, the former born in 1797, and the latter March 29, 1809, in Knox county. The subject of this sketch was himselfborn in Kentucky, in Laurel county, July 15, 1840. The first ten years of his life were passed in the Blue Grass State. Early taught to know that honest labor was the surest course to rely upon in life, he did such duties on the farm as he was able, and in 1850 accompanied thefamily to Ray county, Mo. Some seventeen years later, or in 1867, he became located in this township, upon his present homestead, and here he has continued to adhere to the principles inculcated in him so longago. Upon his farm of 180 acres he is engaged actively and industriously in raising grain, etc., and also gives considerable attention to the stock business. While living in Ray county, Mr. Parman was married,Miss Louisa Keeling becoming his wife April 12, 1863. Her birthplace and date of birth were in Todd county, Ky., in October, 1843. She was the daughter of Fleamar Keeling, born December 17, 1801 in Virginia, and Jane, nee Starker, born March 11, 1811. They have seven children: Lillie May, born September 1, 1868; John, born July 4, 1873; Mary, bornOctober 9, 1875; Emma, born April 12, 1877; Jesse, born March 29, 1879; William, born February 6, 1881; and Oliver, born August 5, 1883. MrParman has occupied several positions of trust during his location here. For some time he held the position of justice of the peace by appointment and has also been assessor of this township. He is a member ofthe Christian Church, while his wife is connected with the same denomination. Politically he is a Greenbacker.
