Thomas E. is said to be a nephew of Thomas Butler who moved to Carroll Co. TN and also of Joshua Butler of Montgomery Co. NC. This is currently unproven.

Thos. E. was appointed guardian of minor ch. of William J. Butler (623)

Jacintha (--?--) (396); or Joentha Cynthia 1870 census; also known as Sinthy? She was born in 1810 NC. Tombstone of Martha Jane Butler (394) says dau. of Thomas and S. (Sinthy?).

xii. Johnson (4032); b. 1860 TN. Birthdate based on age 10 in 1870 census; could this be William J. (b. 1830) and misread or misunderstood age by census taker?

There were no children of Thomas E.¹ Butler (395) and S. (--?--) (3654), if S. is a different person than Jacintha..

2. Martha Jane² BUTLER (394) (Thomas¹); b. 23 Oct 1828; m. Joshua C. Boyd (393), son of John K. Boyd (255) and Judith Butler (254); d. 23 Sep 1872 at age 43. Her tombstone says mother is S. Butler (Sinthy?).

Joshua C. BOYD (393) was born on 24 Jan 1823; or 1825. He died on 26 Oct 1918 at age 95.

He enlisted 7th TN Cav USA on 20 Aug 1862 TN. Thomas E. Butler (395) father was appointed guardian of William's minor ch.

Susan CROW (624) was born in 1832 MS. She received military pension no. 180559 in 1869, based on service of husband.

4. Henry Claborn² BUTLER (627) (Thomas¹); b. 1832; m. Nancy Ann Jones (628), daughter of William Jones (1175) and Lucinda Ezell (1176), 26 Mar 1856; d. 14 Sep 1865 near Ramsey,, Fayette, IL; ref. data of Jean E. Dion, Punta Gorda, FL, per her pedigree chart dtd. 1979.

He enlisted 7th TN Cav USA, co. D; resigned ca. Jun 1863, prob. due to disability on 4 Aug 1862 Carroll, TN. Either he or Henry H. Butler (322) is a cousin of Atlas J. Butler, per latter's postwar claim.

Nancy Ann JONES (628) was born on 6 Dec 1836 TN. She lived 1890 at Crider P.O.,, Carroll, TN; per 1890 veteran's census. She died on 23 May 1902 at age 65.

Elizabeth A. LOWRANCE (633) an Eliz. Lorance age 14, dau. of A. A. Lorance age 46, DOC1850 Gibson Co. TN, 13th distr., no. 1117. She was born on 13 Dec 1836. She died on 20 May 1924 Chelan, WA, at age 87.

William Alexander BRACKEN (637) and Sinai Bracken (4541) Sinai said to be mother of Wm. A., Felix Henry (b. ca 1849), and Mary (b. ca. 1855) Bracken; father said to be Felix Rutherford per FTW CD 2, tree 5862. He was born in 1854. He died in 1930.

America Elizabeth ROBINSON (1132) surname may be Robison. She was born on 13 May 1852. She died on 7 Mar 1879 at age 26; of pneumonia.
