Mathias Lenhardt
(as spelled on the manifest last name should have been spelled Leonhardt as
that is how he spelled it) sailed February 26, 1910, on the RMS Lusitania, Port
of Departure Liverpool, England. Arrived Ellis Island, New York March 5, 1910.
He is shown on the manifest as Line #0014, List 39, Steerage Passenger. He was
to reside on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in
Tiszaistvanfalva on March 22, 1877. He resided in Katy, Hungary, was 33 years
old, male, and married when he arrived in New York. He passed away October 1,
1950 and is buried in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio. He was my
Grandfather.
Margareta (maiden name Schmidt)
Leonhardt (later on used Margaret) wife of Mathias sailed June 25, 1910, on the
RMS Pannonia, Port of Departure Fiume (Carno, Triest, Austria). Arrived Ellis
Island, New York July 15, 1910. She is shown as Line #0001, List 36, Steerage
Passenger. She was to reside with her husband on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland,
Ohio. She was born on July 9, 1881, in Katy and resided in Katy, was 28 years
old, married, and female when she arrived in New York. She passed away
September 27, 1965, and is buried in lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio,
next to her husband. She was my Grandmother.
Janos Leonhardt (should have been
John and sometime after the year of 1930 changed last name to Lenhardt) son of
Margareta & Mathias sailed June 25, 1910, on the RMS Pannonia, Port of
Departure Fiume (Carno, Trieste, Austria). Arrived Ellis Island, New York July
15, 1910. He is shown as Line # 0002, List 36, Steerage Passenger. He was to
reside with his parents on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born
March 12, 1902, in Katy and resided in Katy, was 7 years old, male, and single
when he arrived in New York. He passed away February 15, 1989, and is buried in
Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield, Michigan. He was my Father.
Adam Leonhardt, son of Margareta
& Mathias sailed June 25, 1910 on the RMS Pannonia, Port of Departure Fiume
(Carno, Trieste, Austria). Arrived Ellis Island, New York July 15, 1910. He is
shown as Line #0003, List 36, Steerage Passenger. He was to reside with his
parents on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born August 10, 1904, in
Katy and resided in Katy, was 4 years and 6 months old, male, and single when
he arrived in New York. He passed away in 1972 and was cremated. He was my
Uncle.
My father John was the only one who
changed his last name to Lenhardt. All the rest remained Leonhardt.
