Since I am a Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force (Retired), the POW-MIA issue is something I am deeply concerned with. No American serviceman should ever be forced to spend one more day in an enemy prison camp, nor should the body of one person who we sent off to fight a war, however unjust it may have been, be allowed to stay in the jungles of Southeast Asia.

The prisoner I have chosen to adopt may be a distant relation; he is a relative of at least one Akers line. Only the barest details about his loss over Laos have been released in accordance with his family's wishes.

Captain Carroll Baxter Lilly, United States Air Force, was born December 1, 1939. At the time of his capture his home of record was Morgantown, West Virginia.

On 9 April 1971, Captain Lilly was pilot of an A1H Skyraider, tail number 137628, when it went down in Laos. Captain Lilly was captured at coordinates 15 degrees 16 minutes north, 107 degrees 36 minutes East.
