Aram Jack Reed

Funeral services for Aram Jack Reed, 82, of Stillwell were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the Tanner-Underwood Funeral Home in Loraine, and at 2 p.m. in the Stillwell Christian church, the Rev. William Bailey, pastor of the Payson Christian church, officiating.  Music was furnished by Mrs. Kenneth Short and Mrs. Kenneth Ballard, accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Blythe.  Pallbearers were Delbert Echternkamp, Willard George, Lawrence Blythe, Mike Sill, Stanley Cunningham and Lee Howard.  Interment was in Moss Ridge cemetery in Carthage.

Mr. Reed died in Memorial hospital in Carthage Sunday, Feb. 25.  He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of Stillwell for 58 years.

Born in Floyd county, Virginia, Nov. 1, 1879, he was a son of Willis and Sarah Burgess Reed.  He was married to Velma Tanner in Keokuk, Iowa Aug. 17, 1921.

He was a member of the Stillwell Christian church.

Surviving are the widow; a son, Morris J. Reed of Sycamore; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Pratt of Red Oak, Iowa, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
