Hugh Darby was married to Mary F. Hatchett. When Hugh died in 1840, Mary went to live with her children. By 1860, Mary Hatchett Darby was living with her son in law Elias Cook and Sibelia Darby in Yell County, Ar. Elias Cook & Sibelia Darby had been married in Madison County, TN. in 1843 as had Mary Jane Darby and Wilson C Jones in the same county in 1845. Sometime between 1850 and 1858 the Darbys and Jones moved to Arkansas. Homer,sister Martha & her husband Quilla McFarlin all moved to Dallas County, Arkansas. Elias & Sibelia (Darby) Cook along Mary Jane Darby and her husband (Wilson Jones) moved to Yell County, Arkansas.

Will of Hugh Darby: State of Tennessee Benton County I Hugh Darby being of sound perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First after alll my jest debts are paid, I give and bequath to my beloved wife Mary(Hatchett) Darby all my estate both real and personal property to have and to hold the same during her natural life or widowhood and thus my wiil is that my estate be equally devided between all my children and I here by appoint my son Homer N. Darby , sole executor of this my last will and testimony hereby revoking all former wills by me made in wittness whereof I have here unto set my my hand and affixed my seal this 25 th day of February A.      Mary Jane Darby    Born 18 March 1828, Virginia.   .  Mary Jane married Wilson Courrey Jones. She is buried alongside Wilson in the Dacus Family Cemetery, Yell County, AR










     Hume Hatchett Darby.   Born 1816 Virginia.   Died 15 Jul 1862 Carroll County, TN      Hume married Harriett Taylor (dau of Ahab Wilson Taylor).













     Homer Newton Darby.   Born 1813 Virginia.   In 1840 Homer lived beside Hume in Carroll County. In 1850 he is in Madison County, TN. He may have moved to Arkansas when Wilson Jones & Mary Jane Darby moved which was between 1850 and 1860. It appears he moved to Dallas County, Arkansas along with his sister, Martha and her husband. He bought land in Cleveland County, Arkansas in 1891.      Homer married Martha Johnson.













     Sybella Darby.   Born 1825 Virginia.   Sybella married Elias G Cook (son of Roland and Phoebe Cook) and they, along with Wilson Jones & Mary Jane Darby moved to Yell County, Arkansas. Sometime after 1860 Sibella and Elias divorced. Elias married a woman named Lora and together they had 3 children. Sibella never remarried and lived with her children until she died. Elias & Sibella are buried beside one another in the Dacus Family Cemetery in Yell County. Elias died in 1884, Sybella died in 1916.













     James V. Darby.   Born 19 Nov 1809 Virginia.   Died 1 Apr 1861 in Tennessee. He married Martha Susan. According to court documents in Madison County, TN, he was appointed guardian of the following children when his wife died around 1850. Homas Clementis Mary Dionettia John Bruce Ann Matilda James Virgil Martha Susan In 1850 James and Martha were living with a Dr. James M Clark and his wife Margaret Dionitia in Carroll Co, TN. Also in this household is a Thomas Jones b. 1772 and Dionitia Jones, their daughter Mary E Jones. The other children remained with their father, James V. Later in life, Martha Susan Darby would marry John Porter Clark, one of Dr. Clarks sons.













     Martha A Darby.   Martha A Darby married Quilla McFarlin. They moved to Dallas County, Arkansas.
