Nicholas and Maria and their children came to the United States probably around 1850. All of their children were born prior to 1850 in Germany. Both Nicholas and Maria were buried in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.


     Jacob Erion  Born Mar 1838 in Edenkoben, Bavaria.  Died 21 Mar 1895 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Buried in OAKLAND CEMETERY, Little Rock Arkansas
Johann Philippe Jacob Erion (Jacob) moved with his family to the United States when he was a child. Lived for a time in Peoria, Illinois and then moved to Paris, Illinois in about 1863. Early in 1883 he moved with his family to Mabelvale, just south west of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. He later moved to 7th and Martin in Little Rock, Arkansas and he and his wife ran a grocery store at 2201 W. 7th in Little Rock. He died in Little Rock at the age of 57.










     Johann Philipp Erion  Born 25 Sep 1839  Died 1 Apr 1913   Philipp fought in the Comp. B, 3rd Illinois Cavalry Union Army during the Civil War. The unit he was in fought in and around Helena, Arkansas; Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Germantown, Tennessee.
This would have likely entailed skirmishes around Byhalia, MS which is just 20 miles south of Germantown. At the same time, a man by the name of Casey Young was fighting for the Confederacy in and around Byhalia, MS and possibly Germantown, TN since again the two are very close. After the war, Cora Erion (Philipps niece)would marry Robert Edgar Barnard (nephew to Casy Young.
Philipp married Catherine Honiger whose father ran the German School in Peoria. Kate died leaving Phil with lots of kids, at a farm they bought and ran in Nickerson, Reno, KA. In Peoria, after the Civil War, he had tried many ventures to include running a dairy in Peoria. He began to travel looking for adventure while the grandparents cared for some of the oldest children back in IL. The younger girls remained at home in Kansas to help with the house and farm. Phil returned to IL in 1890, where he married a widow named Sophie Lindig Matt. They returned to the Kansas farm to live, had more children and died there.










     Adam Erion  Born Feb 1846 in Edenkoben, Bavaria  Died 24 Mar 1885 in Peoria, Illinois.
Adam was an accountant, investor, realtor, landlord, barber, and fireman at Peoria #4. Many of his letters refer to fellow firemen. He married Mary Reisenberg 23 Oct 1866 in Peoria, Illinois.










     Barbara Elizabeth Erion  Born Apr 1836 in Edenkoben, Bavaria  Died 1899 in Peoria, Illinois.  Barbara married Phil Messerschmidt on 12 Mar 1854 in Peoria, Illinois.










      Catarina Irion.  Catarina Irion was baptized in 1842 in Edenkoben, Bavaria and died before 1848 in Bavaria.
