KIRKLAND   FAMILY

My Kirkland ancestors originate with Philip Kirtland (who was born about 1645). He married and had a son named John.

John was born about 1670, married and had a son named Richard.

Richard was born about 1695 and died 1743 in Fairfax, Virginia. He married Mary Snowden, who was born about 1695. They had a son named John.

John was born about 1720 in Stafford, Virginia and died 1773 in South Carolina. He married an Elizabeth and they had a son, Francis.

Francis Kirkland was born 1745 in Fairfield, South Carolina and died there in 1792. He married Mary Watts around 1765 and had a son named Ambrose.

Ambrose was born 1770 in Fairfield and died Gwinnett Co., Georgia, where he married in 1795 to Charlotte Camp. Charlotte was born in South Carolina and died in Gwinnett County. They had a son named Jefferson Kirkland.

Jefferson was born 1803 in Fairfield, SC and died 1862 in Clayton Co., Georgia. On September 17, 1822, in Clayton Co., Georgia, he married Mary Nichols. She was born in 1808. Jefferson and Mary had a son named John Andrew Jackson Kirkland.

John Andrew Jackson Kirkland, who went by "Jack" was born 1844 in Fayette Co., Georgia and died about 1880 in Cass Co., Texas. He married on February 14, 1867 in Clayton County, Georgia to Martha Allen. Martha was born about 1844 in Alabama and died about 1880 in Cass Co., Texas. They had a son named John Henry Kirkland.

"Henry" Kirkland was born Feb 5, 1867 in Cass Co., Texas and died February 23, 1950 at Lubbock, Lubbock Co., Texas. He married March 11, 1897 in Cass County to Nannie K. Wilson. It is believed that Nannie was born in January of 1881. Henry and Nannie had a son named James Floyd Kirkland.

"Floyd" Kirkland was born February 4, 1901 in Cass Co., and died April 20, 1981 in Lubbock, Texas. On April 1, 1922 in Commerce, Hunt Co., Texas he married to Trudie Matthews. Trudie was born July 24, 1903 in Hunt County, Texas and died September 14, 1994 at Hale Center, Hale Co., Texas.
