My short McCrary line starts with Joseph McCrary, who was born in 1789 in Ulster, Ireland. He died in 1820 in Burke County, North Carolina. Joseph married to Anna Powell, who was born in 1750 at Culpepper, Virginia. The only child of know of from this union was Samuel McCrary.
Samuel McCrary was born 1786 in Burke County, North Carolina and died on September 16, 1872 in Jackson County, Alabama. He married to Sophia Elizabeth Allen in 1803 at Burke County. She was born 1786 in Wilkes County, North Carolina and died 1831 in Jackson County, Alabama. Samuel McCrary then married Cecilia Rash, who was born in 1802 at Granger County, Tennessee and died in 1871. Samuel and Cecelia had, at least, one daughter, Catherine Ann McCrary.
Catherine Ann McCrary was born in 1841 in Alabama and died in 1896 in Jackson County, Alabama, where she is buried. She married to John H. Matthews about 1875. I know of just one son to this union, Sam Leroy Matthews. Sam's information can be seen on the Matthew's page.
