Take Me To A Placed

TAKE ME TO A PLACE

Take me to a place
down a pleasant grassy lane
leading to a covered bridge
over a quiet country stream

Where the forest meets the road
like a tunnel of emeral green
wild magnolia blossoms shimmer
with a luminous pearly sheen

Where flowers grace the meadow
and flourishing fruit trees abound
a bevy of butterflies flutter
portraying colors that astound

While the birds warble merrily
among the giant leafy trees
the cicadas join in chorus
with the buzzing of the bees

And around the bend
a cottage awaits the eye
with grandmother at the door
cooling a fresh baked apple pie

The cousins all sit singing
on a large wrap-around porch
with warmth and love for each other
and devotion to the Lord

Take me to this place
where trust is in the air
one breathes in tranquility
and comfort is everywhere

This is a place where I know
I would really like to be
but something even better awaits
in God's Heavenly eternity
