Washington Township
Washington Township
While researching Batsto Village, a great many references came up regarding the surrounding communites of the Township; in fact the biggest problem in determining the population of Batsto was in separating Batsto residents on the census from residents of other Washington Township towns, which ended up providing more information on those towns as well. Some of these pages contain no or little information as of yet, but I am updating them all the time as I come across more references to the communities which surrounded Batsto. The towns covered so far are listed below. There is also a region of the Township listed on the 1910 Census described merely as the 'cranberry district', where eight different homes were occupied (this is more than some of the official towns, like Tyler Town). One man who lived there was a Julius Gerber, although a different man by that same name lived in Tyler Town as well.
