The following is a transcription of the will of John Crom found on page 46 of 
Document 1 of Number 369 in the Probate Court of Wood County, Ohio.  Spelling 
and grammatical errors are neither noted nor corrected.

In the Name of god Amen I John Crom of Wood County State of Ohio being weak in 
body but of Sound and disposing mind and memory and being desirous to Settle my 
worldly affairs Whilest I have capasity so to do, do make this my Last will and 
testament, hereby revoking & making void all former wills by me made at any time
heretofore and as to Such worldly estate where with it has Pleased god to In
trust me with, I dispose of the of the Same as follows to wit.  first is my will
that after my deseas my funerral expenses and my just Debts be paid by my 
executors hereinafter Named  Second I give and bequeath to my beloved wife 
Magaret in lieu of her dower all my moveable property with all the rents of my
farm where I now live and ocupied by my Son Josiah Crom which rents Shall be 
anualy paid to her by my executors during her natural life and after her deseas
my Son Joiah Crom may have my farm which he the Sd Josiah has now Rented which
Contains one hunderd and twenty acres by Paying Sixteen Hundred dollars to my
Several heirs one year after the Deseas of my wife Margaret one hundred and 
Sixty dollars to my Son Jacob Crom the Second year $160 dollars to Elizabeth 
Walters the third year $160.00 Dollars to Daniel Crom the fourth 160.00 dollars
to my Son John Crom the fifth year to Mathias Ream $160.00 dollars the 6 year to
Jonathan Crom $160.00 dollars the 7th year to Peter Dull $160.00 dollars the 8
year to John Willener(?) $160 dollars the 9 year to John Hill $160 dollars the
10th year to Joseph S Rochte 160 dollar my Son Abraham Crom has got his full
Share of my estate  
I do hereby ??? my Executors and all my heirs to make a free Deed unto Sd Josiah
as soon as he the Sd Josiah Shall secure to each of my heir heretofore Stated 
the sums above written for the above but if the afore Sd Josiah Crom is not 
willing to take Said farm on the Conditions above written my will is that Sd
farm Shall be sold to the Hiest bidder and the mony Equally devided amongst 
Jacob Crom Danil Crom John Crom & Jonathan Crom and Josiah Crom & Elisabeth
Wallters Mathias Ream Peter Dull and John Willener & John Hill & Joseph S 
Rochty - my Son Abraham has his full Share as above written
I do hereby nominate and apoint my Sons Daniel Crom & Josiah Crom executors of
this my last will and testament.  I do allso apoint Daniel Crom and Josiah Crom
garteens (guardians?) for my Son Abraham Crom
In testimony whereof I have Set my hand and Name to it Signed Sealled this 
to be my last will and testament this 31st day of october AD 1848
