PHOTO TYPE	Tintype mounted behind an oval cutout in a card the size of a carte-de-visite with an embossed wreath encircling the cutout. Although not clear, the words "POTTER'S PATTFT (sic PATENT) MARCH 7 1865" are embossed on the upper right edge of the card.
FEATURES

This photograph, the one on page 07L and the two on page 13 are the only photgraphs in the Kay Whaley collection which are mounted on carte-de-visite size cards with the words "POTTERS PATENT MARCH 7 1865" embossed on the edge. The photograph on page 13c has the initials R.L.B. written on the rear in ink and it is believed that this is a photograph of Franklin Tatum Baird's baby boy, Robert L. Baird, born 5 Jul 1866 in Smith County, Texas. I believe that all four of these photographs were made in Texas since all of other identifiable tintypes in the collection, which were made in Alabama or Georgia, were not
