Babs and Helen were visiting in Harper, Kansas when I was in grade school.  Babs handed me a half-dollar and told me to hang on to it - that it would be worth a lot of money some day because there would never be any more made with as much silver content!

We visited Babs and Helen in St. Louis the summer after I was in seventh grade.  They were the "rich, city relatives."  Everything was big and grand!  Helen hid her pearls in the baby grand piano!

The summer after my Junior year in high school, Helen and her friend, Helen Naismith Dodd, visited us on the farm.  Helen Naismith Dodd - the first woman I had known to use both her maiden and married names! - wrote about her father in my yearbook.  James Naismith was the inventor of basketball.  I was very impressed by this.  I was even more impressed by their diamonds!
