Jane Elizabeth Traxler was born April 26, 1840 in Delaware County, Ohio.
She married James Frank Beckwith on April 22, 1861, the same day
he enlisted in the Union Army and went off to fight the civil war.
When she was 25 years old, she had her first child, James Jr, in 1865. At 27, she had her second child, Francis. At 28, she had her third child, Winsane Earl Beckwith, March 9, 1868. He would be the father of Otto Beckwith, and grandfather of Charles Beckwith. When she was 32, she had her fourth child, Elizabeth. Elizabeth would never marry, always live at home, and died at the age of 41. At 33, she had her fifth, Elmer. At 37, on February 3, 1877, she bore here sixth child, Mary Della Beckwith. Della would grow up to marry Charles Oates and have one child, Viola Oates. At age 40, in 1880, she had her seventh child, Edward. Finally, at age 45, in 1885, she had her 8th and final child, Albert Yale Beckwith. She passed away in 1915, at the age of 65, in Cleveland, Ohio and is buried in Cleveland's Riverside Cemetery. Her gravestone reads simply "Mother".
