John Thomas McDannald I was born July 21, 1785 in Virginia. His father was George Warren McDannald and his mother was Mary Murdock. John was the third child in the family and first born son. According to the Nicholas County, Kentucky Marriage Book A, page 4, "John McDanald and Peggy McMickill were united in marriage on the 23rd day of February, 1809, by B.W. Stone". John was 24, Margaret was 21. This information is also entered in Nicholas County Vital Records Vol 2 pg 46, although there it is documented that they were married by Hervey Lester, J.P. Around 1830, the family moved from Kentucky to Brown County, Illinois. Sterling, Brown County, Illinois. He was buried in Tucker Cem., Elkhorn Township, Brown County. Margaret "Peggy" McDannald died on April 2, 1857, at the age of 69, in Mt. Sterling. She is buried in Tucker Cem. |
