• Bill Fields writes: "John Wiley Bedwell (Adams) was the second child
and eldest son of Erasmus Bedwell and Letty Adams. He was born October 25, 1855
in Letcher County Kentucky (his birth is recorded in the county records). On
March 8, 1879 he married Nancy Jane Cornett (the half sister of Margaret Jane's
husband John Cornett). The marriage bond indicates this may have been John's
second marriage but I have found no records of an earlier one. In later life
John developed what would now probably be diagnosed as Alzheimer's disease. He
as admitted to Eastern State Mental hospital in the early fall of 1929. Less
than a month later, on September 25, 1929 John died. He was buried on the grounds
of Eastern State Hospital but no record remains of the exact location."
