The three older children, Nolin, Ella, and Mary, are listed as Bedwells in the 1880 Lincoln County Census, but were Keiths. Apparently, Nolin went by N.O. Keith as an adult.

Jesse Major Bedwell and Rebecca Elzina Ashby were married on 7 Oct 1875. Rebecca Elzina Ashby⁷⁴⁷ (daughter of Peter G. Ashby and Mary Jane George) was born on 14 Oct 1844 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.⁷⁴⁷ She died on 21 Aug 1929 in Lafayette, Missouri.⁷⁴⁷ She was buried in Polk, Polk County, Missouri.⁷⁴⁷ Jesse Major Bedwell and Rebecca Elzina Ashby had the following children:
