John L., 18; son Reynolds C., 14; son Alyses, 11; daughter Amie (?), 9; and daughter
Malisey, 2.
• 1900 Census for District 11, McMinn County, Tennessee, shows F.P. Basinger,
born Jun 1832, a farmer who rents, as head of household including: Jane H., Jun
1833, his wife of 40 years; son Paits, born July 1868, a farmer; daughter-in-law
Callie M., born Jul 1872, Paits' wife of 7 years who has had two children with
both still living; grandson Charles C., born Aug 1894; granddaughter Mary, born
July 1899; and Malissa B., born Nov 1877, single. (Note: it says that Malissa
has had five children with four still living, but I think that actually refers
to Jane H.)

Basinger, 77, a farmer who owns his land, as head of household consisting of:
Jane H., 73, his wife of 48 years who has had five children, four still living;
and daughter Malissa B., 30, single. Jane Haseltine Brewer and Fielding Pope
Basinger were married. Fielding Pope Basinger199 (son of Michael Basinger and
Cynthia Peters) was born in Jun 1832 in McMinn County, Tennessee.
He died in 1921 in McMinn County, Tennessee.372

From the 23 JAN 1863 Edition of the Athens Post: $570 reward for F.P. because
he enrolled as conscript but failed to attend.
Fielding was named for the Rev. Fielding Pope, early and successful minister
at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, Athens, McMinn County, Pennsylvania.
