"Isaac went from VA to TN where William was born to Lawrence Co.,
Indiana in the 1830's (from King's Book) because his brothers were there. Then
he went to Iowa." -- from Rodney D. Bedwell, gggrandson of Isaac Bedwell.
"Isaac and his brothers William, Martin, and Ira Theo. moved to Lawrence
co. Ind about 1828. It is thought that William stayed in Indiana as there is
no knowledge of him or his descendants. Isaac then moved to Lee Co., Illinois
before 1840 and then moved to Monroe Township, Mahaska Co., Iowa where he and
his first wife died. The Bedwell cemetery is on this land. He had children
born in each state from Tn to Ia." -- Donald E. Bedwell, descendant of

household that contains three males under five years of age, one male between
20-30, one female under five, and one female between 20-30. The next listing
on the census page is Isaac's brother, Martin Bedwell.
1840 Census for Sugar Grove Precinct, Lee County, Illinois shows Isaac
Bidwill as head of household containing one male between 5-10, three between
10-15, and one between 30-40; and two females under 5, two between 5-10, and
one between 40-50.
1850 Census for Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, taken in Sept 1850, shows
Isaac Bedwell, 45, a farmer born in Virginia who owns $1000 in real estate, as
head of household containing: Eleanor, 25, born in Indiana; Polly, 18, born in
Indiana; B.F., 17, male, born in Indiana; Agga P., 12, male, born in Indiana;
Abby, 9, born in Illinois; Eliza C., 7, born in Illinois; Albert McCan, 5, born
in Indiana; and Edwin Bedwell, 1, born in Iowa.
1852 Iowa State Census shows E. Bedwell, a resident of Monroe Township,
Mahaska County, Iowa. Is this Ellen, Isaac Bedwell's widow? Isaac Bedwell
and Charity [--?--] were married about 1825 in White County, Tennessee.133

1920 Census for Precinct 1, Jefferson County, Colorado, shows Alpheus
F. Bedwell, age 68, born in Iowa of parents born in Virginia and Indiana, a farmer,
and Mollie McMains, age 46, single, his niece, who was born in Iowa of parents
born in Indiana (who must be the daughter of Mary Jane Bedwell McMains, Alpheus'
half-sister).
1930 Census for Grant Precinct 1, Jefferson County, Colorado, shows Alpheus
F. Bedwell, age 79, single, a farmer who owns his own land on Cole Creek Rd.,
