This is a fascinating line. We believe one of the two unknown sons of Stephen may have been named Isaac. In the 1850 Hancock County, Illinois census, Stephen's family is shown, along with a ten year old boy named John Van Winkle. Who was John Van Winkle? We really don't know BUT we found as Isaac Valentine who married a Jane Van Winkle, AND in 1879, their daughter Sarah (Stephen and Mary Rebecca Valentine had a daughter Sarah ... perhaps this was her namesake??) who married Elwood Moore in McDonough County, Illinois. Can anyone solve this puzzle?? |
