Klump & Bertran Family Reunion Information for 2006

The family reunion is planned for June 9th, 10th and 11th 2006, the 2nd weekend of June. We are trying to miss Memorial weekend and Father’s Day to eliminate conflicts. The reunion will be held in the Hawley Bed and Breakfast, where it was held last year.  We will have plenty of room to visit and eat protected from the weather. We are still working on the house and a tremendous amount has been done since last year.

The raffle at the 2005 reunion was a great success.

This year’s raffle will be an afghan donated by Betty Sanford, a chenille scarf donated by Roberta Davis, a white afghan donated by Inez Fattig and the friendship quilt that Sandy Wyngaard put together from the blocks we all decorated with our genealogy at last years reunion. Sandy cut and donated the blocks, collected pictures to add and is having it quilted. Costs will be paid from the raffle. Raffle tickets again this year will be $1 each or 6 for $5.

The last 3 years raffles worked out really well.  We appreciate everyone who bought tickets. Last year we used the money to send out the notices in April and to buy all the food for the family reunion. Peggy planned the meals and did the shopping. Everyone pitched in to cook, bake and tidy up.  This makes it more enjoyable for people traveling to not worry about what to bring.  Thank you everyone!

Family quilt squares were created by Sandy Wyngaard in 2005 and attendees at the family reunion in 2005 added genealogy information. The squares were returned to Sandy who put the quilt together and had it machine quilted. She then took pictures shared from the family and created pictures on fabric and added them around the outside edge of the quilt. On the back she added pictures from her immediate family. The quilt was drawn by Inez Fattig who will return it in 2007 for the next drawing. Each person will keep the quilt for 1 year, returning it for the next drawing so it can be enjoyed by all. Thanks to Sandy for all the work and donating the quilt to the family reunion for the yearly raffle.
