  • Was a Revolutionary soldier. He was mustered free when the Revolution began in 1775. When Benedict Arnold was marching against Richmond, he and his brother Francis were placed over many negroes to cut down trees and blockade the roads. In 1784 he and his family went to Kentucky with a party of 300 others. They settled in Fayette County which later became Jessamine County. He died there in 1815.
