    There is an Alexander Deal listed in the 1790 Census of SC in Ninety-Six District, Laurens County. He is listed with: 2 free white males of 16 years of age or older, 3 free white males under 16 years, 3 free white females, and 3 slaves. He lived close to Clement Deal; their names were only 20 names apart in the records.
    The 1800 Census of SC lists Alexander Deal (Laurens Co., p. 34), Jane Deal (Pendleton County, p. 131), Rebecca Deal (Abbeville Co., p. 14), and William Deal (Georgetown Co., p. 388).
    The 1810 Census of SC lists only 6 Deals (and no Deales): Alexander (Pendleton Co., p. 148), James (Laurens Co., p. 42), John (Laurens Co., p. 37), John (Laurens Co., p. 29), Mary (Pendleton Co., p. 143), and William (Fairfield Co., p. 200).
    Marcus, Demillion, and Meshack are the only Deal(e)s listed in the 1820 SC census.
    All of the above children, except John, were mentioned in Mary's will.

    Alexander is recognized as a patriot by DAR. He is on List #15 of "A List of the Classes in Culpepper County for January 1781 for Recruiting this Quota of Troops to Serve in the Continental Army."

    In the Card Index of Revolutionary War Patriots in the SC Archives, the following names are listed: Clement Deal, Demillion Deal, Jeremiah Deal, John Deal, Michael Deal, and William Deal.

    He is found in the 1800 Laurens County, South Carolina census, p. 34.

    Alexander died intestate. After his death, all Alexander's heirs received $162.50 when the estate was settled in 1817(Box 19, Pkg. 12). His son John and wife Mary were the administrators of his estate.

    There is a listing for a John DEAL and Daniel DEAL in the 1787 census of Culpeper[ac.FTW]

    Aug 21, 1771, Alexander and Clement Deale bought 153 acres on the north side of the Rapidan River, in Culpepper Co., VA, from Francis and Lucy Moore, for 221 pounds, 13 shillings.

    Jan 1781, Alexander is on "List #15 of the Classes in Culpepper County for Recruiting this Quota of Troops to Serve in the Continental Army." Alexander is recognized as a patriot by DAR.

Pursuant to a warrant from John Thomas Esq., Commissioner of Locations, dated Apr 14, 1785, north of Saluda, I have admeasured and laid out unto Alexander Deal, 640 acres of land below the ancient boundary on a Creek called Simmons Creek, a branch of Little River waters of Saluda, butting west on Thomas Edgehil and Chesnut, north on Robert Simson, south on James Williams and hath such shape and marks on the form as the above plat represents. Survey Apr 29, 1785, by John Rodgers, D. S., and recorded May 16, 1785.
