Clarence Marshall was placed in a Protestant Children's Home on Dauphin St. in Mobile, Alabama on October 29, 1887. It burned down and some of the records have been moved to the Baptist Children's Home on Grelot Rd. in Mobile.
According to the orphanage records and census information he was born in Mississippi. Also according to these records, his father was Clarence Harris and his mother was Annie Glass Harris.
