Military Prison, Rock Island, IL; exchanged at City Point, VA on 23 March 1865; born in Mississippi on 20 February 1835; died in Arkansas, 21 February 1914; buried in Deal Cemetery, Drew County, AR; listed in 1911 Arkansas Confederate census at Lacy, AR; widow Silena Deal filed Arkansas pension application #22714 form Drew County on 16 August 1915; Listed in Ashley County census? with wife Margaret E. (West); occupation farmer. Alexander was a Confederate soldier, serving in Co. L, 1 Ark. Cav. under Capt. Wolf. His widow applied for a pension in 1915. He was captured in Price's Raid in Mississippi. Paroled on March 1865 at Rock Island, IL.
