  • He and his brothers, Joseph, Reuben and William and two sisters, Nancy and Hannah Barrett moved to Tuscaloosa Co., AL prior to 1820. Arthur soon went back to SC and married Mary Caradine, daughter of Thoas and Elizabeth Grant Caradine of the Pendleton District. He and Mary settled in Pickens Co., AL about 1821, just west of the Tuscaloosa Co. line. Moving SW about 100 miles, Arthur and Mary settled in Newton Co. prior to 5 March 1836. By December 1838, Arthur had moved his family to Neshoba Co., MS. Settled in the Coldwater community of Neshoba Co., MS. Arthur's name appears on 1839 Tax Rolls of Neshoba Co. as does the name of two of his brothers, Joseph and Reuben.
