  • [WardOliverFile1.FTW] Charlotte County Will Book III, pp 184-185 In the name of God amen, I Cutbirth Williamson of the county of Charlotte and parish of Cornwall being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, and calling to mind the mortality of the body- knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make this my last Will and Testament, that is to say, I resign my Soul to almighty God who gave it to me and my body to the dust from whence it came, to be buried in a Christian like manner, and as touching my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased god to bless me with, first my desire is that all my just debts be paid,- I Lend to my beloved wife Susannah Williamson all my estate both real and personal Except as hereafter mentioned, towit I give to my children now living with me one negroe to each child at the age of twelve years, when such child shall arrive at lawful age or marry, Viz Samuel Williamson, Cutbirth Williamson, William Barrett Wiliamson, Francis White Williamson, Daniel White Williamson, & Mathew Williamson, the remainder of my estate to be kept in the possession of my beloved wife, for her use & the education of my children, and after her decease, I give to my above mentioned children to each of them or their survivers one small negro at the age of three years or the value of such, Viz John Williamson, Charles Williamson, Susannah Jeffries, Nancy Harraway, Samuel Williamson, Cutbirth Williamson, William Barrett Williamson, Francis White Williamson, Daniel White Williamson, Mathew Williamson, if any part of my estate remain my desire is that it be equally divided among all my children, except Elizabeth Blann and Rebecca Rogers to whom I have hereto fore given their due share of all I prose to give them, - I do nominate and Appoint Nathan Harvey, Charles Williamson, & Samuel Williamson my whole and sole executors of this my last Will & Testament and I do by these presents revoke and renounce all former wills by me heretofore made.As Witness my hand and Seal this 9 day of August one thousand eight hundred and Eleven & 1811 Witness Benjm Chapman, Cutbirth Williamson SS H. Madison, Josiah Rice At a Court held for Charlotte County the 2nd day of December 1811 This Last Will and Testament of Cutbirth Williamson dec'd was proved in Court and the same was proved by the oath of Benjamin Chapman, H. Madison, and Josiah Rice the three subscribing witnesses to be acknowledged by the said Cutbirth Williamson as his last Will and Testament in their presence and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Charles Williamson and Samuel Williamson two of the Executors therein named who made oath according to Law. Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate of the said Will they giving security Whereupon they with John Williamson and John White their Securities entered into & acknowledged their bond according to Law for that purpose. On the motion of Nathan Harvey one of the executors named in this will, who made oath according to law, probate thereof is granted him on entering into bond with security: Whereupon he with William McKinny his security entered into & acknowledged their bond according to law for that purpose.
