George Buggins

of Worcester Needle Scourer being of
Sound and
disposing
mind memory and
understanding but knowing
that it
is appointed for
all men
once to die
do this
Seventeenth day
of January
in the

our Lord One

publish This
my last
Will and
Testament in
manner and
form following
that is to
say I desire to be
devoutly interned at The discretion of my EXECUTORS herein after named
I give
divest and
Ecquitable
to my
EXECUTORS herein after named All
my household
furniture
and other effects my
business And implements
of trade all cash
and securities for money
With all
debts due
and owing
to me
at the time
of my
decease Upon
trust that as
soon as
possible after
my decease
they may
sell and
dispose of
my business and
stock in
trade converted
therewith and
with the
proceeds
there of
and the
proceeds of
the remainder
of my
personal
estate to
pay and discharge
all my funeral
and testamentary expenses
and all
debts which
maybe owing by
me at
the time
of my decease
I also
request direct
and impower
my EXECUTORS herein
after named
to receive
payment of
the sum
of five hundred pounds exactly
that amount
of a
Policy of
Insurance effected
by me
on my own
life in
the Star Life
Insurance Office
carrying on
business in
London
and elsewhere
and after
having received
the said
sum of
five hundred pounds on
account of the said
policy I
direct my said
EXECUTORS to invest the
same on
Goverment or other good
security and
to pay the
interest arising therefrom to
my dear
wife for
and during
the term
of her natural
life or
so long
as she
shall remain
unmarried towards
the maintenance
of herself
and the
education and
support
of such of
my children
as may
be minors
at my
decease and
till they
attain
the age of
twenty one
years And
if after
the discharge
of my
just debts
funeral
and testamentary expenses
there should
remain any
surplus I
further request
that my
EXECUTORS shall
invest such
surplus likewise
for the
benefit of
my said
wife in such
manner and apply
the interest
arising therefrom
in the
same way
and upon the
same terms
and conditions as the
interest arising
from the
sum of five
hundred pounds
receivable from
the said
Star Life
Office And
at the decease
of my
said wife
or in the event
of her
marrying again
I
request my
EXECUTORS to
pay and apply all rents and profits
and interest
arising
from my Estate
to towards
the education
and support
of my
Children as
may be minors
in such
manner as
they my
said EXECUTORS
shall deem
most proper And
when
the youngest
of my
Children shall
have attained
the age of
twenty one
years I
direct my
EXECUTORS to
divide the
whole of
the
amount of my
personal estate
which may
be then
in their
hands in
fair and equal
proportions among
all my
Children share
and share
alike
And should any
of my
Children have
departed this
life before
t his division
Of
my said
personal estate
I direct
that share
or shares
of such Child or
Children
so dying
shall be
divided in
equal proportions
among the
survivors of my
said Children
provided my said
Child or
Children so
dying shall
not leave any
issue but
if issue be
left I
then direct that

John wrote the original Will for his father just one week
before his twentieth birthday.
George died on
the 26th
of May
1861 the day after John
added the codicil.
A Needle Scourer polished the needles, the final process in manufacture. George
employed three men at Beoley Mill In 1851.
